Default Anyone just watch the car show?

As the title says anyone just watch it? if you didnt, there was a little section a the end where they drive a jeep wrangler on a full on of road course, and it managed to complete the course. The next car they put on it was a 1987 XF ghia with the 4.1 and EFI. and it could basically do what the wrangler could do except drive up a very steep dirt road, and drive through water about 50-70cm deep. Apart from that it could do everything a jeep could do, and its a family car from the 80's! anyone who saw it that can put it into better words, please do

I hated seeing that XF up to it's neck in water. It's a crime! Raise it up a bit and you have an offroader.

Thats funny, i went to make this topic about 10 minutes after it finished but i thought nobody would care about an old XF. It was in awesome condition and he did all that to it, i couldnt beleive it. He could have at least used a reliable shitty looking one. I cant wait till theres hardly any left then theres videos like that for people to watch.

I have seen that episode a few times now ... and they keep repeating that RAV4/Cruiser comparison as well.

I was surprised how well the XF went up the hill climb ... better than the RAV4.

Yeah, it was a pretty good stunt to pull.

The water and the hill were the killers for the XF, but I can't believe it made it through the slalom, the Jeep only just cleared some of the humps and the bloody XF made it through!

I was cacking myself watching the Monty go through the course.

Goes to show that the good 'ol XF is one tough bastard. Pity that the door seals didnt hold up.

I've put my one through some narly shizznit, but not through water that deep. The engine would suck up a gutful of water on my one (based on the fact that moved the intake lower to draw somewhat cooler air).

Nah the jeep was only released last month. He did indicate the only thing that really stopped the XF was lack of traction, which funny enough also was the issue with the Toyotas on their run. Decent tyres, and more clearence in the Falcon, and see what happens. Actually, we already know. Falcon Longreach Outback/RTV anyone?

Just shows that older Falcons have suspension heights similar to 4WD's.
