ISP's won't keep the password on file for any call centre operator to view. They will only ask for the password word from you to confirm you have the correct one.
I don't understand why you are so paranoid about them asking for your password, if any body there wanted to view you emails they don't need to ask you for your password, they can just reset it and have all the access to your account. So the person at the other end of the line will always have access to your password. |

My ISP doesn't ask for my password.
I think most people would be more concerned over their ISP looking at the websites they've visited rather than going through their emails.

i work for an isp...
the primary form of identification we use is credit card details... we can see the 1st 4 + the last 4 + card type + expiry passwords are not secure anyway.. the password for you internet connection is always kept in plain text somewhere. even if it is masked via **** or something... its recorded somewhere and can be decrypted... privay about pages you visit: most isp's see about 5 warrants a day for internet taps to be put in place.. then ALL DATA IS RECORDED eveything you send to the web or get from the web is recorded... but this is only allowed to be used when we get a warrant for the "packet capture" to take place... if an isp did this for all interner traffic, you would run out of storage in hours!!! email security. everyone knows the net is not 100% secure, people even fake 128/256 it encryption and make fake bank portals , its evil stuff.... 99% of the time its weak passwords then true "hackers" as it is said... the main vunrabilty of a system, is the user
