just wonderin the size of a stock diff and the gear ratio... cuz im lookin 4 a lsd diff that will bolt up with not much hassel... sick of havin a single spinner chears...!

Wise advice.....LSDs are rare and very expensive bits of kits for the standard "English" axle which was fitted to all Aussie Mk 2 Escorts. The works cars were fitted with "Atlas" diffs (available in Capris), but sourcing a used LSD from one of those will set you back 350 quid if you can find one.
I have a friend who rallies a BDA RS1800 Escort repo with a Hilux diff. The number of ratios available, plus LSDs make sourcing/maintaining standard Escort diffs pointless....And the things are bomb-proof, as well. |

A side benefit of using a cut-down Hilux diff is the ability to use Ford five-stud wheels - I have been told the 2WD Hilux have the same stud patten as Falcons. Food for thought ....

If you use an 1984 model Hilux diff, you don't need to cut it down at all. It is the exact same width as an Escort diff. You just have to relocate the mounting points.
