Default "Page Hints and Led Zeppelin world Tour

Quote:
Led Zeppelin are ready for a world tour, but lead guitarist Jimmy Page says it will not be until later this year at the earliest.

The British hard rock legends last month put on a two-hour concert at London's 02 Arena for 20,000 lucky fans and speculation has swirled of a fully-fledged world tour ever since.

Page, visiting Tokyo to promote a greatest hits album, acknowledged that the three surviving members of the iconic 1970s band had laid the groundwork for a world tour.

"The amount of work that we put into the 02," Page told reporters, was "what you put into a world tour."

But he refused to be pinned to any definite plans, saying that any world tour would depend on frontman Robert Plant's schedule.

Plant "has a parallel project and he's really busy with that, certainly until September," Page said.

The band played some of their classics - from "Stairway to Heaven" to "Whole Lotta Love" - at their December 10 concert in London.

The gig came 27 years after the band split up following the death of drummer John .

The London concert was a tribute to Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who signed the band four decades ago and died in 2006.

Most fans had assumed they would never take the stage again.

I would pay whatever it takes to see these guys

I'll go out on a limb here and say that old school rock music will come back the next couple of years. We'll see more of Led Zepp, AC/DC have a new album underway with a tour, the old school bands are touring again and there are a lot of local rock bands starting up with the older bands as influences, Electric Mary and Airbourne probably the main ones

Which is a good thing, there hasnt been decent music out for years!

Honestly I hope the Scalpers dont see this.

I would still pay a grand a ticket to see them.

A raffle would suck ,as the Gig They played recently was supposed to have been raffled and yet so many celebs rocked up....

Yeah it would be sooo awesome if they got back together for a World tour, last I heard they want Jason (Bonzo's son) to be the drummer but they are also talking with Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters...

For all you Led Zepp fans, check this website for the latest updates...
http://forums.ledzeppelin.com//index.php?act=idx

Just finished watching a bootleg of their Seattle concert and to be completely honest, there are no words in the alphabet to describe how good they were back then and no doubt still are today...

Ah geez, if only Bonzo didn't have 16 shots of Vodka for breakfast that fateful Sept morning in 1980 :(

Great news, I have almost worn out my 'song remains the same' DVD.

Anyone else yell out "Anybody remember laughter" whenever Stairway' is on?

Imangine the ticket prices, $150 easy.

I'd happily pay twice that...

And on the drummer side of things, I'd love it either way... Jason for a bit of nostalgia.... but... Dave Grohl, I reckon that'd be something!

Unless they play a few gigs tickets would be gone literally in minutes...I reckon you'de have to be either bloody lucky or know someone involved in the industry to get you some
