Default Where can I get large flat o-rings in Melb?

I need a seal to go between carburettor and a gas hat- a bit like a flat rubber washer- ID about 130mm and about 2 or 3 mm thick. Know the sort of thing? A bit like the seal inside an oil filter, between filter and block. I've seen them at Bayswater bearings, but they're 3 hours over the other side of Melbourne as I'm in the Northern suburbs nowadays, anyone have any suggestions where I might find something like that over this side of town, around Preston, Thomastown type of area?

Any help appreciated, thankyou.

You could try some of the truck dealers over that side .It sounds about the size of a fuel cap O ring

An automatic transmission repair shop. Autos are full of large diameter o-rings.

Go to someone like Consolidated Bearing Supplies, or another bearing supply company.
If they haven't got it they will get in a day, or have it made. In Campbellfield. 2/43 Cooper St

Mate, you don't need to use a rubber seal. We use the paper carby gaskets you can get at any carby shop. they are more than enough to seal the gas mixer to the top of the carby.
The other option we used to do to dirt box cars, was to run a bead of silicone to the bottom of the mixer adapter befor fitting it to the carby.
I feel the rubber washer will be overkill, andif you get one that is too thick it will have problems seating correctly when doing up the mixer.

Go the paper gasket mate. it seals perfectly everytime and is reusable. other wise a smear of silicone is sure to seal it perfectly.
Good luck.

Yeah, but I forgot to mention I'm fabricating my own gas hat possibly without a lathe and I'm not bad with draw filing flat surfaces but over a larger diamater theres sure to be discrepencies which might not be filled with paper gasket, plus there's the boost pressure to be considered too. But I think you're right if I can chuck the main mating surface on a lathe quickly it'll seal with paper alone, then I wouldn't have to worry about chasing up such a big bloody rubber washer(-:

Might be a good idea, I'll try out both ways and see what works out best I think, btw, thanks for everyones help and leads on my 2 cent part.
