Default well got a call i didn't want

well while on holidays from work i got the call i didn't or need

this call is about rain i work in the farming industry and here in vic we have had none to talk about

***edit *** we have been given 3 months notice if we don't get rain we are out of work ******

i am lucky i have other options open to me but i do worry about the other guys where i work

they are young enough to get other work but to young to have debts that they have i fear that they will end in trouble financially before they find work

for me i have been keeping my eyes open for other work and don't need to worry atm i have seen this coming for a while .....

just wondering if other people in the farming industry are in the same boat

Heard it was in a bad way down there. I went down as far as Temora last week and it was stuffed from about 50km north of there. I had traveled down from Gulgong & they got an inch the night before.
I went out to West Wylong and back up the Newell and all the country up to Gundy and across to Texas had had rain and was holding well.

All you can hope for is some rare Summer Rain.

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

Its a side of the drought that often isn't seen - the people out of work and the stress of families. Hope all works out for you.

I know how you feel. I worked in agriculture for quite a few years as an agronomist, I got out 4 years ago when I couldn't stand to see any more friends and clients go to the wall. Farming is a cruel game sometimes. Everytime I'm in the supermarket and hear someone about the price of bread or milk I want to slap them.
