Sorry to hear, I know how you feel. One of my cats was bitten by a tiger snake a couple of years ago, took him to the vet and they told me to take him to the vet hospital. After 4 days and $3500 in costs he passed away. Speaking to a locum at another vet a while later he told me the best thing would have been to put him to sleep straight away.

Time will help and when you're ready you can adopt a little kitty and give it a great life

So sorry to hear mate. I am sure my cat Ella will be there in cat heaven to make snowy welcome.
We got one of those "box style frames" and put Ella's collar and favorite toy in as a shrine to her. we have it up along side the family photos in the lounge.
