I seen a magazine on the shelf "street machine commodore edition" and on the cover it had an old HDT SS commodore and some new VE type thing and I read the cover and was given the distinct impression that holden are building a new HDT SS Brock commodore!
Sorry but if memory serves HDT have been gone for quite some time, so has the late Peter Brock - Either the mag is misrepresenting the car holden have built : or holden are desperately clutching at straws and are willing to try anything to sell them I am not a holden fan or a Brock fan but I firmly believe that there shouldn't be even the suggestion of a Brock anything. Kinda reminds me of Elvis impersonators profiteering off of the departed just isn't right to me. It has a bonnet bulge and all! I searched this on Google and not much has come to light on this subject <<EDIT>> http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Ar...rticleID=51062 Google just trawled this up for me <<EDIT again>> This is very interesting HDT does exist and they are the ones doing the mods to the commos not holden still interesting nonetheless :

HDT did not go anywhere after Pete Brock sold it. It has changed hands a few times, and has been similiar operation to CSV.

HDT is now owned by Peter Champion, an avid brock fan and collector of his cars. The HDT business has never stopped operation but it has changed hands a few times. These are HDT retro type cars and have no assosciation with Holden. They are working on the VE and adding designs based on the VC and in the future I think the VH/VK group3 and probably every other Brock based will get a run in the future

I've had some dealings with Peter, he's not a bad bloke for a Holden man...
They've been working on another VE, all I know about it is that its got 6 pot caliers up front and they were trying to source some decent wheels for it.

i seen these at the clipsal 500, i quite like them in a weird way.
i can see the bonnet scoop becoming popular with VE owners, at first i wasnt a fan of the wheels but after a while they grew on me.

I don't mind it.. but nothing they build now will ever come close to the raw grunt of old cars..... for a car you can jump in that has leather/ac/ps and then head off from 1 side of Aus to the other and on top of that has some good go its great.....
