While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I'm just judging from the threat title, "welded diff gears". I tell ya I won't laught ! - I seen an old monaro do mono's with welded diff gears in the past !. Done properly they can rock !. Not much good for road use as the inner wheel when turning a corner does to many revolutions and screeches when turning. But for straights (quater mile runs), welded properly they can perform just as well as a factory non slip diff.

I knew a mate of mine, who were in the HQ racing years ago. They were winning or being close to the podium most times.
Until a little feature let loose. They were found to have a welded up diff.

I suppose any advantage works until it's ruled against!
