Built Ford Tough
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574...54-401,00.html FIVE PEOPLE are lucky to be alive after a freak head-on crash involving a plane and a four-wheel-drive ute. The light aircraft had just taken off from a South African runway when it plunged down towards a secluded road near Krugersdorp Airport, west of Johannesburg. The Ford ute, carrying three people, was travelling in the opposite direction when the two-seater Piper Cherokee ploughed into it before bursting into flames, South African newspaper

I wouldn't be surprised if that utes fixable! Definetly a lucky escape. Ford should use this in their marketing campaigns for light trucks.

Guys it is a media beatup.
Cherokees have 4 seats and weigh between 1000 and 1300kg and even in glide would be doing well over 100km/h which if it hit that car would have snapped the main spar and the wings would be forward of the fuse. The engine and prop have just melted rather than detached under inertia and there is no prop damage on the truck. It is much more likely that the aircraft has had an engine failure and forced landed heavily on that skinny road then the truck has come round the corner hand hit it while it was stationary. But that is not such a good story is it. |

Notice there was someone in the back of the ute that fell out when it crashed! The lady driver should go to jail for attempted murder!! (referring to the poor drunk bloke who didnt mean to kill his mate in the back of his ute...)

As for the plane, the pictures were pretty cool but it's pretty funny how it's all BS. Especially the woman who said she could see the pilot's faces as they were hurtling toward her, LOL. |
