Default Sacrilege. Removing Blue Ovals

For reasons I will reveal later, I want to remove the Blue ovals from the tailgate, steering wheel, and front grill.

The tailgate and steering wheel appear straight forward....a little heat and gently pry them loose

But does anyone know how to remove the grill badge, but still retain the backing plate? ie still has the hinged plate that covers the bonnet key hole, but the blue oval badge removed?

(The reason for the sacrilege? I am gradually working towards a complete monotone colour scheme on the exterior, and have secured a set of black and silver Ford badges for the tailgate, steering wheel, and front grill, rather than the blue and silver)

Nice idea. Black badges eh? Could look 'interesting'. I cant really imagine them to be honest!

The grill one does have that flip mechanism, but from what I remember after smashing one in spare parts (was an accident, i promise), you can actually pull away the badge and the flip mechanism should be behind that - the badge actually sorta sits on a piece of plastic, which is in turn connected to the little hinge. Does that make sense?

Try flipping it open to put your key in, and then look behind the badge and you'll see what I mean.

Something like this?

Sounds like a good idea to me!

That's the idea!

Although relooking at the website I bought them from, I'm hoping its the full badges (it's what the pics are). It's just that some of the other items they sell say things like "fits over existing badge".

Maybe I'll get ripped off and get vinyl stickers!!! Should have them next week. At least they didn't cost me much

Have a look here (not where I'm getting them from) This bloke even does English Ford badges, Irish Ford badges, and pink Ford Badges! (see attached)

http://cgi.ebay.ie/BLACK-FORD-BADGE-...QQcmdZViewItem

The site below is where I've ordered mine from.(see Emblem set "Ford" design)

http://www.webxtremes.com/fordfocus.htm

or on thier home page you can access stuff for Mustang Focus Escape Cougar. Something might fit the Falcon
