Default AU series 2 XR8 engine diagnostics

G'day, does anyone have the procedures or pin out for the diagnostics check on for an AU XR8 series II (engine diagnostics)?

G'day,

on the off-chance you're still looking for an answer to this, I assume you're thinking of the way you can check engine diags trouble-codes on other vehicles such as connecting a LED to the correct pins of the diag port and shorting another pin etc. and then got a series of blink-codes out of the LED (??)

If that's the case, then unfortunately that can't be done on the EEC-V. The only way to read diagnostics is to plug in an actual code-scanner.

Ford's official device is the NGS tester, which can also initiate active diagnostics etc. But you can buy simple devices just to read and reset the currently logged trouble codes. I think Autel make a couple of devices fairly cheap that'll do it now. Also, if you have access to a SCT Xcal2 or3 flash programmer, they can scan codes too.

You can't use any standard ODB2 scanner though, as the port on the AU is not fully standard ODB2, even though it is based on it. You need to make sure the scanner you use specifically will support the AU falcon, not just generic ODB.
