Default I went Mustang shopping on Sunday (dialup unfriendly)

On Sunday morning I decided to go for a look at what was sitting in the caryards here, I actually found a GTO and I can see why they aren't a sales success when you compare them with the mustang.

The GTO $33690.00 US

The Roush Mustang $28410.00
I Know which one I'd prefer..... and should you happen to have a spare $47k you could have one of these,

and some more mustangs, I think I like the blue and white one the best though, it's a pity the bonnet scoop is just rice though, it dosen't go anywhere that I can see.

Regards,
Tote

They do look tough. Why do they make them sit so high though?

Those last two are awesome.

I'm not a massive fan of that Pontiac GTO mabe because it looks like a body kitted Commodore and doesn't have the same 'muscle car' look as the mustang.

They can fit like 315's all-round without tubbing them though. Our cars here can't fit big tyres without alot of work because they sit so close to the wheels from the factory, amongst other things. I guess Ford builds 'stangs with drag racers in mind eh...

Beautiful!

The GTO is so much faster than the Mustang... but the Stang sells so much more because it's "the American dream."

Edit: Were these taken in the US or in Australia?

I'm in California for a couple of weeks training, if the photos were in OZ I'd have the blue and white one in my shed ))

They have the 4.6L V8 with the three-valve per cylinder heads. Make about 300HP compared to the 2004 GTO's LS1 with 350hp. The 2005 GTO has the LS2 and makes 405hp.

Pretty freaking scary... I love the styling of the new Mustangs, but would have to go with the Goat because it's so much faster.

They're 4.6litres, same SOHC 3v per cyl heads as our BA/BF base model 5.4 V8, with 224kW and 434Nm (300hp and 320ftlbs). They'll hit 100km/h in about 5.7 seconds and the 1/4 mile in about 13.8 seconds. So they're pretty quick, especially for the power they have (225kW VX SS and 220kW AUIII XR8 can't match one).
