Default Proper vf ss v xr6t at drags compare.

http://youtu.be/Lwye94Q7PtQ
Hope this hasn't been posted yet but these guys used the same cars a month ago and only managed very slow times on a damp track.
Also unless there's major video cutting going on....it looked to me the X-ray had the ss by almost a car length in the runs they showed....????

I must be missing something. At what point is the SS a car length up on the XR? It looks to me like the SS jumps out a bit off the start then the XR reels it back in. It might look like the SS is up as they leave the screen at the end of the run but that's just the camera angle. You can see the finish line is left of centre of the frame and they cross that point pretty much dead even.

Gees not even the latest, newest VF can beat the mighty XR6T...... Great comparison!

They both run 13.1 quarters. Nothing in it between them.

Wow I'm genuinely impressed with the numbers from both vechiles.
If you had a good driver in a manual VF (with the 270kw and more torque) I wonder how it would fair against the XR6T?

As the commentator said, they both achieve 13.1 times in different ways. Regardless of how they get there, they are neck and neck with nothing separating them.
Both are quick, cheap family saloons which gives real buyers the choice on what they want to drive.

Imagine the hiding the ss would get if the fg had had any actual development over the last 5 years...

As good as the ss looks, to me its a mighty fail that the car that's been in development for the last 7 years can only equal the old xr6t.

If the rumours are true about fh xr6t getting the f6. 310 motor as an option then the ss will be on a hiding to nothing.

Pretty good times from both cars, manuals would be slower in both models.
At least you get a few quick runs at the drags before the dreaded milkshake sets in

Imagine if they weren't both getting the chop, in ten years time it'd be a 4ltr turbo six beating a 10ltr SS lol.

If a V8 is your thing, a few tenths isn't going to bother you on your daily commute. The SS has it's place. The XR6T has its. Both great rides. Though having noticed driveaway pricing on XR6T lately...thats pretty darn good.

They should have run the all new VF against a supercharged 315 GS/XR8

yawn, straight line proves nothing, put them both on a circuit and see how well their chassis can handle the power.

What I dont understand is how Holden shaved a second from the 1/4mile time from the Auto VE SS, despite the VF having the exact same power.
Either something dodgy is going on, or Holden have achieved what no one else ever has...

Apparently the auto in the Vf is much improved over the ve, equal to zf going by a lot of the reviews.

If that's the case there's a big part of the gain.

If they haven't made it any quicker shifting then I can't see how that would make any difference. Even if it was quicker shifting we're talking milliseconds.

The difference is the 40kg lighter it is, and the dodgy press car super tune Holden loads into the ECU, that no one who buys one off the floor will receive.

They / holden have been providing press cars that seem way to fast. Its been going on for years..
