Default leaky aircon

This is my first posting i have a ef futura that has leaky ac its been regassed but has leaked out got quoted 500+ to get fixed, can i fix the leak myself then get them to regass any help very appreciated.

it depends whats leaking in the a.c
nothing is hard to do if you know how

for $500 it sounds like the evaporator (i think) well the bit thats in the car in the middle of the heater box has broken, so its a whole dash out and back in to fix it, that would cost about $500.
