It's not often that I find the Letters to the Editor page in our little local paper worth reading, but this one was a gem.
In the Tumut area they are thinking of trapping Dingo's and putting tracking devices on them to find out where they go. Our letter writer says this is not unlike a meeting at Tallangatta some years ago. Many Farmers wanted to know what the Government departments were doing about the seemingly out of control Dingo problem. During the meeting a Greenie made the point that the dogs should be castrated when caught and then released. An irate farmer then bellowed from the floor that the Dingo's were actually killing and eating Sheep, not having sex with them.

sadly, a Greens member recently raised a proposal in nsw parliament to do exactly the same thing (desex & release) feral cats.
I mean, seriously, wtf? How is that stopping the feral cats from eating the native wildlife??

That Greens member probably needs to read their party policy on wildlife a little better

serious http://www.alexgreenwich.com/bill_to...ats_introduced and read the most recent comment by a dumb animal liberationist - apparently if they're desexed they live in harmony with native animals because it seems desexing magically provides you with never needing food again...NOT. These are the morons who owe trees an apology for stealing their oxygen

It's up to us to control the numbers of feral animals in this country, the Federal/State governments sure aren't going to do it. Hell, they put so many obstacles in place that the average person simply can't without going through the ringer for 6 months.

I wrote this before:
If 50 kolas got killed each week because of a dangerous road, the do-gooder fraternity (The Greens) would be up in arms protesting, raising petitions, news broadcasts, picket line protest, road blocks, blood stained footpaths, They would go to extreme measures to have the road made safe so that the cute cuddly koalas are safe. But If 50 native animals are killed per day by feral animals and if someone wants to organize controlled management of pests, which requires humans intervening in state and nation parks, toting guns to eradicate vermin - that's a big no no from the native animal advocates (The Greens). The Greens entire approach comes down to this, lock away vast tracts of land, discourage people from the areas, no roads, no touristy stuff. Feral animals and the inevitable uncontrollable bush fires are subsequently allowed to wreck untold damage to native flora and fauna. Greens = disconnect from reality = hypocrite. Yet people vote green ... Go figure? Last edited by cheap; 13-10-2014 at 06:40 PM. |

living 45 minutes from Australia largest regional center I don't don't get to have a say in the mess that we have to deal with-but it good laugh when 80% of the of people in the outer area surveyed would like to see corruption that listen to transport plans for a railway station with no rails.

Yeah, I’m bi-alliterate. That means that I can’t read and write in two languages.
Time for bed I think.
