Hi everyone,
I am searching for some information regarding the type and size of nut used on the ball joint of Mk 1/2 Escorts and Capri's. My project car sits in Perth while I live in Mt Isa in sunny Qld, and I have discovered that the ball joint nut is missing, making it unsafe and quite difficult to move around and onto a tilt tray truck. If someone could help me out with this info, I could get my (very not car-savvy) friend to instal the nut so I can move my car to places more suitable. I'm a little scared as he is likely to force on the wrong type of nut and screw up the track control arm and ball joint. On my road Capri, I recall a castle nut and split pin arrangement, but see these days more TCA's use a Nyloc nut.. Either way, as long as the thread is compatible, it will enable the vehicle to be moved into a shed for storage. Hope to hear from you. Mal K |

Thank you for the lead, I have managed to get Race Tune Services in Maida Vale WA to send a couple to aforementioned un-car savvy friend for him to put on the ball joint.
Here's hoping!! Mal K |
