Gregory's? They tried to launch that crap format in the Melbourne market back in the 1980s and it failed. Conversely Melway did a Sydway and it was so successful that Gregory's changed their format to the Melway/Sydway format.

Back on topic. Our roads are not designed for 296km/hr. But 130km/hr for main roads should be no concern. Examples: Hume Highway between Melbourne and Sydney, Geelong Road between Melbourne and Geelong just to name two.

Just to be clear, the main point of the post was to highlight the issue that phone usage while driving is a bigger danger than doing 70 in a 60 zone. IMO.

GPS affected? Buy a Gregory's.
Then drive around with the Gregory's on ya lap or held on the steering wheel while looking for the required street address.

Yes it would be great to have autobahn type highways in Australia. Be prepared though for the associated damage from the crashes. Let's not fool ourselves. The higher speeds will result in higher death and injury when the accidents do occur. It only needs a bird for example to strike the windscreen of that Porche to cause a monumental pile up.

The road between Melbourne and Geelong might be one of the best but how will you fix the seemingly unfixable problem of most Mexicans refusing to drive anywhere but the far right hand lane?
