Default Taking "getting home under your own steam" to a whole new level.

In 10 years of Falcon ownership, and 3 different Falcons, I've always prided myself on always getting the car home under its own steam, no matter what the breakdown was. I've done 100km on 5 cylinders, and the same 100km trip with almost no transmission fluid and the box slipping the whole way.

But this guy puts me to shame!

Oh and sorry if you require a facebook account to view the video. If anyone knows how to link the video without requiring it that would be great.

I once, many years ago, managed to drive a Toyota HJ60 over 500ks with a crankshaft that was completely broken in two pieces between cylinders 4 & 5.When it was finally removed it showed that it had broken like a dog clutch which is why it still ran so well even at 80kph.

By the way it was an aftermarket turbo installation that the crank didn't like, I also managed to break another crank a year after it was rebuilt before I decided to give that away as a bad joke.

Spitting out transmission fluid that's more mettalic than my paint job usually stopped my old 4 speed ba. Goodbye drive and neutral! Hahaha

I'm surprised they were laughing, I don't think it's funny.

Definitely not funny considering he was eventually pulled over by the police and recorded twice the legal blood alcohol limit. (it was on the news)

Yep, as the guy was ****ed he used his indicator to make sure he did not attract the attention of a passing patrol car.

I have nursed sick cars home before but this takes a real special kind of individual to travel such distance on 3 wheels. ****ed or not thats some pretty impressive skills demonstrated I bet sober he could have bought it home on 2.

In 2002 the Australian Rally went through Mundaring. I was going down the Gt Eastern Hwy when Carlos Sainz went past in a Ford Focus with one back wheel missing! Sparks flying out from underneath starting fires in the grass in the median strip. Lots of cops nearby but nobody did anything.

What's wrong with that? They do it in V8 supercars all the time, to get back to the pits!

I guess the very first reaction, particularly from young kids, is to laugh at the absolute ridiculousness of the scenario. Then on second thoughts... virtually no effective braking, seriously impaired steering ability, risks of fire, an accident waiting to happen etc. Maybe dad should've eventually explained to his daughters just how serious this really was, and why exactly. Maybe he should've phoned the police?
