Default 1.9% Finance on Everest

Hello,

Currently looking at getting a new Everest and the dealer rang yesterday and said they can do it 1.9% finance.

What are the catches here? I know he said you need a 10% deposit which is normal (I think), but is it just a really good deal or do I need to be more cautious

Thanks

you will struggle to beat the retail price with a 1.9% finance deal, if you get your own finance you could probably get $5k or more off retail, you need to work out if a 7% loan with $5k off is better then full retail with 1.9%

i did the 1.9% in 2013 on my old Fiesta for $15330 (carsales cheapest price at the time) but i sold it before the finance was up so had to pay $700 to pay it out early
so keep that in mind if you are going to upgrade before the loan is up.

Bollocks, only Toyota play that game. Ford negotiates.

Yes they do, and that's how I ended up walking out with a brand new XR8 when I walked in just to get Falcon brochures I gave them what I thought was a ridiculous offer and 1.9% and they did it.

Yeah, we'll negotiate on 1.9. Got a Titatium Everest here and at the "negotiated" price you're only paying under $300 in interest... The 1.9 includes all the fees and charges. Real rate is way under 1%... As long as you've got the deposit, go for it.

Does taking the 1.9% remove any factory rebates or dealer incentives on the car?

Nope. None at all. Ford has always been this way since I can remember (only been selling them 7 years though)

Yes correct you can still negotiate the best price.

The only 2 real catches are you need to pay 10% deposit up front and the max term is 4 years (No balloon).

Actually just put an order in for a FGX G6E (non turbo). Wife’s influence there. Should be built by early Feb. Wanted the last year model as a keeper. Will post pics when I pick it up. There’s nothing better in the world than picking up a new Falcon.

Just heard an ad on the Radio saying "last ever sale, City Ford Melbourne, every new, used and demo car to be sold, unbeatable deals and finance". I gather City Ford Melbourne will soon be no more? Very sad. Over the last decade, Ford must be the only brand that has experienced such drastic shrinkage in such a short amount of time. Even witnessed one Ford dealer in Sydney being turned into a HighUndies dealer right before my eyes a few years back. At the rate they are going, it will soon be about as difficult to service a new ford as it is to service a Subaru due to the low number of dealerships.

I was told that it was $750 on 4 yr loan pro-rata.
Eg. Payout after 2yrs, should be $375 penalty.

Can anyone confirm this?

Go into Ford Finance and ask for the 1.9% deal for a loan to pay off the credit cards/taxman/wife/exwife/hitman/lawyer.

I bet they say no.

The cost of the money is higher than that, heck plonk the money in the bank and get 2.5% for 12 months. Someone is paying for the different in the 1.9% and whatever is the real cost factored into theloan, and I bet its not Ford.

Funds are currently bought at 1.2% CR by Maccas, the dealer pays balance of interest cash out of the margin in the new car. They wont lend you the money on an unsecured as these are secured consumer loans. If ther unsecured the rate would be 10 to 13%.
