Default Something I never thought would happen.

We have had our 2007 Territory Since new.

This week it is finally time, we will be picking up our new car Thursday or Friday afternoon.

I would like to say our Territory Named Tex has been just as advertised......
Your were Amazing, and we did Amazing things.

As for what I never thought would happen it is our new car:

2017 Hyundai Tucson Active X MY18

2017 Hyundai Tucson is a good looking smaller SUV than the Territory.

Yes we did, The Tucson actually felt roomier and a lot more bang for buck.

arronm

No we only tow a box trailer to the dump occasionally.
Will actually be a welcome change to have better fuel economy, Tex (our Territory) Trip computer sits around 14.5

I think a lot of ex Ford and GM buyers will be moving to brands they never thought they would own.

There are probably a lot of factors in your choice of a new car, but I am curious as to why you did not consider a new Territory, as there seems to be still a lot of new stock still around on Carsales.
Are they 'phantom' adverts, or are Territorys forgotten since it is now a year since production ceased.

Biggest factor was what we are comfortable going into debt for on finance, ideally I would have loved an XLT Ranger but by the time I had it optioned with what I wanted would have been 55000, that’s 27,000 more than I am giving into finance for now

Good choice, although I would be hanging onto Tex as well. Basically irreplacable now and worthless to sell to boot.

Tucson will still tow the average trailer to the tip or the boat to the dam.

People seem to forget that a few years ago tow vehicles had less hp than even small engines have now.And that sometimes was back when they really didn't have brakes to slow the whole lot down.People now would cringe at towing 2 tons behind an EH Holden or XM Falcon with cross ply tyres and 4 wheel unassisted drum brakes.

It’s the torque that tows not the power. Theses little cars have low torque. But a 6 x 4 box. No issues.

You are probably right aaronn but I'm getting old.But as a small comparison the Hyundai 120 kw 200 nm 179 Holden 81 kw 237 nm.Used too see plenty of old Holdens towing big old caravans and horse floats around. My point is you seem to reckon the Hyundai would only tow a little 6x4 trailer where in fact it would handle a 16ft or so caravan quite comfortably

Cool! I've always liked Hyundai's, I bought an Excel in 89, a Lantra in 93 and a Sonata in 94. They've come a long way since then. I'll certainly be looking at them once I replace my XR50.

Enjoy
