So thats the real reason (faulty airbags) why local manufacturing went awol, na only joking..
Just thinking about consumer protections & due legal procedure/comebacks against Takata & the affected manufacturers here in this case for the customers... Someone enlighten us please. cheers, Maka

I've got an ED at present. Good car. Can't seem to find it on the airbag recall

This thread is about tekata airbags. Comment was made that if you bought quality or australian made you wouldn't have to worry, which is factually incorrect. There are plenty of quality cars with faulty airbags and like I said, not everyone wants or needs what was on offer locally at the time.

Gotta love the people saying "My X,Y and Z doesn't have airbags, what sort of nanny state cares about this issue"
I would assume having no airbags is a lot safer than an airbag which has a 50/50 chance of shooting metal into your face at 300km/h |

I had the Lexus done 12 months ago (free loan car for the day) and two of the guys at work had their previous gen Rangers done last month. It’s easy and free, half a day and done. If your car is on the list then ring your closest dealer and book it in to be fixed.
No excuses really.

I just want to give thanks for this thread and to tassie f100 for the recent bump.
I received the letter for the recall months and months ago but had completely forgotten about this. This thread reminded me so i checked the register online which said it was not needed, rang my local dealer and they said yes needs to be done, prob a bit of a have on their part but if it costs me nothing with minimal inconvenience then whats the harm? Better to be safe than sorry.
