Default Help Identifying A Customline

Hi, I found this picture of a Customline on the internet the other day and I was just wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what model, year etc. it is

Also can anyone tell me what that square bit of chrome behind the front wheel arch is?

Thanks

I think your right as that body shape ran from 1955-59 & I think the star model grill and side flashing's ran from 57-59.

Its a 1955 Customline, first for that shape.

The 1956 had the wrap around blinkers and big grill with the arrow shape side mold (the "arrow" on the rear door mostly)

The 57 had the same grill as the 56 but added huge V8 badge and the side mold went up onto the top of the front gaurds.

The 58 was the Star model, star in grill and side moulds back down along the sides.
