Default Falcon XR6 Cab Chassis

Falcon XR6 Cab Chassis special edition options include
One-tonne suspension with 16” one-tonne rated alloy wheels* - not shown (no cost option) A workhorse has never looked so good or performed so well. Still cannot work out why they didn't do same with XR8. I think XR8 cab chassis would sell better.

It looks great, but XR ride height is not practicle on many building sites, it would be more of a weekend toy.

You missunderstood me, i am talking ground clearance, most tradies i work with that own XR utes get bogged and/or under body damage driving onto messy building sites.
Thats the main reason i bought a 4wd ute.

I'd have an FPV 4 door TOMORROW, or any 4 door Falcon ute for that matter!!
I wanted to buy a 4 door ute when I bought my XR8 ute for work, simply because 3 people into a 2 seat car doesn't go.
I was looking at a Hilux 4 door, but the XR8 still won out, due to more load space for work.
I will NEVER buy a Crewman. Small (smaller than a Falcon or Commodore) load area, and a sh1thouse back seat.

COME ON FORD BUILD US A 4 DOOR FALCON UTE!!!!!!!!!

an XR C/Cab just arived at our dealership, it looks pretty good, we havnt put a tray on yet, but i reckon the steal tray is the only way to go, it would look crap with a aluminum dropside tray.

You all realise that you can by any XR ute and take the tray off and replace it with what ever you want? Which means XR6 Turbo Cab Chassis and XR8 Cab Chassis already exist.

There are hundreds getting around Brisbane, I see them all the time. And they look great with polished trays!

There is one silver XR6T with huge intercooler and exhaust with a flat bed back with timber tray, 19s and looks fantastic. Much better than one of those 450 limited edition ones.

For tradesmen like myself that need a one tonne option to actually carry materials, this is what the XR6 cab chassis is about. All cab chassis have a transmission cooler as standard. Normal XR's don't.

Why bother paying for a normal XR ute, taking the tub off and paying more for a tray? Wasted money if you ask me...

a tray like the one pictured wouldnt be cheap either, probably pushing 3-4K
The handy part of the new XR c/cab is that they can have 1 tonne suspension, however that does give you the one tonne alloys as the XR 17's arnt rated for heavy payloads.

Thats what you have to do with most dual cab utes, so its nothing new. And you can sell the styleside easy enough.

No He is quite correct the alloys require rating and most of the alloys are not rated for the payload.


There is substancialy more alloy in the higher rated wheels. Even the steel wheels were different for the 1 tonne vehicles originally.

The biggest issue though is that of insurance if you put underrated tyres / wheels on and there is a failure you will be held liable and have no cover.

The 16" cargo's are alright though provided there is some weight on them, the sidewalls are very stiff and tend to bounce even with low tyre pressures when loaded lightly. (not a problem with my ute constant 1700 kg on rear axle)
