Default Digital Police Stream - Greater Sydney

Hi everyone,
I thought I drop in and post some links to the Digital Sydney Stream. This is operated privately and you dont need to sign up or anything.

This wont be free for long as the operating costs are getting too high so I will make it subscription based over the coming months (just to help pay the hosts etc)

Here are the links for now though:

WinAmp/iTunes/XMMS

RealPlayer

WindowsMedia Player

To visit the Homepage for more info click here

Coverage would be most of sydney (all suburbs).

There was a thread about this before but I thought I start something fresh since its all digital now.

enjoy

Only some back channels are still analog, all main channels have now switched to digital. Campbelltown LAC went digital last week (this was one of the last on analog)

The scanner I use receives both analog and digital.

and....its hard to say when encryption will come in - there are some problems with encryption, but I am sure the techs are working on it. Lets be surprised.

No point really if you are not interested. I have a personal interest in it - and so do many others. Its also a valuable source of information.

But its a matter of personal interest and opinion.

Ok fair enough Richard. How "live" is this streaming, as in how many minutes, seconds etc delay from real time?

Probably the ususal 30 seconds off, due to buffering, encoding etc

If anyone is listening now listen out for the row between 2 bingo players.

lol well not really, but it cant be all interesting and exciting. Its a great tool to find out what really happens in your area. If you just have a row between some bingo players, you would be living in a really nice area.

Thanks for that Richard. For those of us who do enjoy listening in but dont have a spare few grand for an XTS3000 this is very helpful.
