Default cortina engine transplant

juts would like to know if any one has any info on transplanting a EF-AU 6 in to a tc cortina? dose the motor drop in. and what mods have to be done?

as said befor, engine mounts, radiator maybe. as long as it was already a 6 it shouldnt be too much of a hassle, what your plan for it mate?

yeh it's a 6. plan is to restor to original, with a au turbo motor

gonna be fast
make it a real sleeper mate
cops will loves you for it(wont pick you up)
also mesure the 250 thats in it and the au motor
so see if the fire wall needs to be recessed

it was a 200 in it. te,tf had the 250 in them. well c how things go tthe project wont start for 6-12 month. till then ill just keep chasing info

you dont need to modify the firewall for this conversion.

EA --> EL will fit coz u can modify the sump..

AU has a Cast alloy sump and u cant modify it.

but some Late EL motors have AU internals.. and the AU non VCT head fits on EA -- EL Blocks....

didnt the el motor's have a head gasket problime?
how dose the sump need to be modifide?

if your running a blow dryer on it then you will have a custom head gasket wont you?
or is that what im just assuming?

falcon motors the bowl is @ the front.
to get into a cortina it needs to be @ the rear.

as to figuring that out. u just need to play around with it.

i dunno about EL head gasket troubles.. have a look around and see on the forums if people were having trouble with them..

out of all the e's the ef el has the best head on it. they flow a lot better.

i say go for the xr6 ef motor if possible and a garret t45??????? turbo
in a td this would be a weapon

Its not as easy as you would think. I looked into this and with all the **** farting around its easier to drop in an xf injected motor (bolts straight into the 250 mounts) and turbo that.

Theres a guy here in perth who has used an ED xr6 engine. Goes hard but there was alot of effort involved.
