Default au fairlane owners- front spoilers/splitters

ok guys we have sorted out most of our fairlane bits, but what can we do with the front bar? i have the tl50 mouth but i would like to do somethig subtle on the bar its self. i was thinking of the little splitters from a AU XR 1.

I reckon the bottom quarter of a ba gt front bar would go well if you could get it to work. By splitters do you mean the little bottom spoilers either side of the xr bar cause they would also be good but maybe a bit too subtle.

yes AU-MUSTD just the little side splitters. i saw an Audi and a BMW with them and i thought with the grille mouth already there something like that might give the bar the appearance of being a complet unit.

I personally don't like the split look, prefer a full blockey style like a big car should have. I also feel it's a bit "ricey."

was thinking of this one as it has the same side design on the bar sides, in front of the wheel.(arrow) and the opening is almost the same as the fairlane(line)

I had a go:

Geez it looks good in my opinion. I really like the spoiler on it now, too.

I've added your TL mouth.

I used Macromedia Fireworks - similar to Photoshop.

Hey, the grille with the mesh is looking really good. I always wondered how that would go and it seems very possible!

I tried to make it look like it might look with a TL/XR8 cross. It's all virtual - no copy and paste.

i think what i will do is measure a xr s1 bar and then mine and see what the difference is. i dont want to cut and shut the bar. the tl50 mouth covers a fair chunk of the lower lip, so i can cut the center out of the lip and that should give me some room to move.

Good luck with it. Would you mind taking photos of your major steps as you do it? Us LWB drivers would love to see how it is all done. The XR front seems a little bit more curvy than a Fairlane around the lower parts but hopefully you can cut it so that the two meet without too much drama.

See if you can integrate something with driving lights while your at it.

I really want some driving lights on my lane, but i want them to look like they should be there, not just a coupld of lights hanging from the intake mouth if you know what i mean ;)

the XR lip wont be a straight swap/fit. the curvature of the front bars are totally different. would need to be a custom job.
