wow.. thats a great out come . compared to the expected.
for them to call was a big thing but to actually meet you and hand it back is unheard of. obviously willing to face the consequences by being identified. good chance that the lesson was learnt and he will never do something like that again. when i was fitting car security systems i would often have customers come in after they had recovered their car. surprising how many get dropped off infront of police stations with only door lock and ignition damaged.

Good onya mate for doing the honorable thing and not beating them over the head with a 2x4 when you met them. I'm guessing either a family member or girlfriend put the good old guilt trip on them to give it back - some thieves do have a heart it turns out! Happy ending.
Congrats and nice sandman |

You致e sent a text massage to a phone that was in the car when it was stolen even though any 12 year old with half a brain could get into it and get it going with little more than a coat hanger. This might be the wake up call you need. A lot of thieves are smart these days when it comes to bypassing ignition systems, so why make it easy for them, especially with a car as old and as easy as to steal as a HX. If they had the good conscience to return it to you undamaged, I知 kind of thinking that this is the type of theft that may have been prevented with something as simple as a Club lock. That said, I知 glad that you have it back.

If he still has your phone and its on he can be tracked down via the celluar network. Police use this technology all the time, it's not just in the movies...

Considering all of the other things that the police have to deal with, in this case, do you really think that they would go to the trouble?
