Default Sandman stolen yesterday in brisbane

Hi,

I know its not a Ford, I am a Ford guy but also have (or had) a HX Holden Sandman ... was stolen yesterday afternoon from Virginia (Northside of Brisbane) obviously you don't see to many of these old things around so if anyone happens to see a mandarin red Sandman please keep it in mind.

Was wearing PVN-001 number plates. Otherwise nothing really distinctive apart from its an orange Sandman.

Sorry to hear it mate, will keep an eye out too. You might want to list it on www.stolenstreetmachines.com.au to raise awareness... Good luck with the recovery.

Thumbs up

* FOUND *

I sent a text to my phone that had been in it when it was stolen asking for its no questions asked return and the guy contacted me yesterday evening and told me where it was, so I have it back undamaged so I am very happy ... the family is back together.

I wish all these cases ended as positive as this. I don't wish it on anyone what I went through its a terrible feeling. Sorry to spam the forum with this I thought at least with it being so distinctive I might be a chance of someone spotting it if it was being moved.

My advice from this is to make sure your insurance values are kept up to date, it was only insured for what it was worth when I got it ten years ago I would barely get a project car for that now.

No questions is no questions. If you have no integrity how can you expect the guy who borrowed it to get any. The mere fact he is giving it back shows that he may have reliased that he has done the wrong thing and actually cares.

Reneg on the agreement and he might do something really silly to it at a later time or if someone else commits a similar crime may not give it back because he heard what happend to the guy who "borrowed" the red sandman.

Unbelievable.

So glad you got it back, if you have any details on the guy pass them on to the police.

Not sure if it was the guy that rang me, I think it may have been his mate (from what I could tell the guy who took it was maybe skitzophrenic or something and his mate was trying to undo what had been done) he told me where it was and I didn't really expect to get there and find it but sure enough there it was and the two of them were there with it to give it back to me, I hadn't told the cops at that stage as I didn't really expect it was going to be legit that they were telling me where it was. While my statement to the police was the guy contacted me and I got it back undamaged I did give the police a description and all the details I knew. I am just happy to have it back.

I am just glad that you got it back in 1 piece. Doesn't really matter now how or what happened. Get some security on the old girl, even if it is just a kill switch for now.
