I can't speak for other states, other than NSW. What occurred in Qld in the '80s I wouldn't know. All I know is that NSW in my 30 odd yrs of experience has never had a quota. At the end of the day people will believe what they want to believe. Some people can't see the forest for the trees.

I recently went over to usa and drove on 6 lane highways doing the maximum legal speed for that road. Almost everyone sped past me beeping and giving me the bird as they blasted past??? It seemed common practise to speed?? Not a police car in sight.

in saying that i dont think we are over policed. They only need to save one life to make it worthwhile.

How would you like to share the road with people that have no regard while driving your young child around?? Lets just thank the police fir making it as safe as they can, quota or no quota.

Hmm, well obviously not in Coonabarabran, you sound reasonably normal

As for the quota conspiracy mob, I haven't read the article mentioned but all the Plod's I've spoken to (and in my job that's quite a few over the years) do not have a quota.
Some have told me that they need to get a few k's on their shift up or they get a 'please explain' but as for bookings, nothing is said.

The closest I've ever heard of any HP member needing a lot of bookings was from a Vic country station quite a few years ago.
They kept tally, in the lunch room, of bookings. The one with the most won the 'Mongrel of the month' award.

Believe the BS in Wheels magazine if you like and the alleged letters from hwp cops they publish or deal in facts. I prefer facts and I know and deal with HWP cops daily
So anyone on here that may be in possession of information that contradicts yours is a clown hey?

Making statements like that is why you never get taken seriously. That and the fact that you can hardly ever back them up with evidence.

You'll never see "quotas" as an official statement but that does not mean that they do not or have not existed in the past in an unofficial capacity.
