Wet stuff falling

Well I hope that all our mates in the Central Coast NSW have rowboats or similar

Hope you are all OK, but in saying that I think all this rain is wonderfull.

We have had 100mm up to about 6pm and it is still raining

One of the dams here has NEVER been full since it was built in 2000... its overflowing down to the creek ;)

How much rain has everyone been getting ????

I hope its in the rural areas of the rest of Aussie too ....... would be fantastic

I live in South west Sydney, at our house today we have had 18mm. Its not much, but its better than nothing!!!

what are everyones dam capacities?

melbourne is at about 28.6%. Even with the rain we have had, it hasnt made the levels rise at all :( it seems to drop 0.10% every day going by the newspaper levels everyday

Hardly anything up here on the Far North Coast of NSW which is good since Wintersun is on at Tweed Heads and the JetSprints at Cabarita.
We ahd predictions of big falls for Thursday but it rained a bit on Wednesday adn cleared up on Thursday. It all went south. No big deal up here since there are no water restrictions and we get regular rain.

I just hope all this rain is falling in catchment areas. If it isn't then it is about time we rethink about how we store water.

Most of the public dams here are below the 1% mark ........ will have to wait until Monday at least to find out how the are coping now ;)

I know most of our private dams ( as in our farm ones) are now filing to capacity. The three we can access today are overflowing but there are 4 others that we have to wait for the creeks to subside to check out. They were only about 25% full last time seen through the week ;) ....... heres hoping

yeah rain is good, cold weather is not...... my car is filthy and i cant clean it cause i either can drenched im just making the car dirtier or freeze and get hyperthermia lol

we have had 100mm since last sunday here at Miriam Vale QLD ( SW of Gladstone). most of it fell wednesday and thursday. no clouds today but its turned pretty cold.

we had 1.5mm last month
89mm since i bought a rain guage in middle of feb

we are pretty lucky here i think because it seems to get drier within 15km from here in any direction.

the town supply is from bores, no dam so cant tell what our reserves are like, no water restrictions here ?? guess they will tell us when the pumps stop working. farmers bores all seem to be drying up.

where in NSW are you ?

last time i was home i drove past Windermere Dam and it was the emptiest i have seen it since it started filling in the `80s.
i believe it is the fullest dam in the area.

Matey you would be correct ........ Windermere is as low as I have ever seen it too ......

Burrendong & Keepit are at all time lows as well .....

We are up near Dubbo ........ so in the middle of all of them .......

Where is your home town ????

we are having our first cool day for the year today. had to get my jumper out and got the heaters going tonight and my feet are still cold. if i didnt know better i would say we might have a frost tonight.

Yeh,its been bucketing down here in the southern highlands since thrusday afternoon my water tank is full,Avon and nepean dams are at the end of my street so surely they are filling, we are flooding here.

My rain gauge is reading about 65mm since yesterday arvo,that gota be good

461mm since Friday morning in the Mangrove creek catchment. 75000+ customers without supply on Central Coast alone. (Have spent most of the weekend working on restoring other peoples supply with my own house without power.
Driving home on Friday night Mooney Mooney bridge had 8-10" water over the road surface, where the volume of work was too much for the drainage to handle.
Have had the RTV in floodwaters 1/2 way up to the rubstrip on the doors for work and she still ran fine, which suprised the hell outta me. I'll give you the tip that I REALLY didn't wanna try any deeper then that. As it was I'll be drying off my worktools for a month!
Had numerous "challenging" situations to deal with over the last several days that I will not go into - but it is certainly some of the worst conditions I have personally had to deal with. Both in terms of flooding & electrical work in general.

Yes Wulos you are right we have had some interesting things to deal with down here as well. Lovely , cold and wet. At least the customers didnt seem as agro as they were after the wind storms of September last year. They must have been happy to actually see that thing they call rain.

Ah the happiness of working for a big supply company hey? We might even work for the same place.............

none of the true tragedy of it all as I was working busy to restore power, and didn't have time. Have worked nonstop - apart from mandatory stand down time - will be back on normal duties tomorrow. There's plenty of customers still without power many will be remaining so until they have their houses tested & proved safe after the waters subside. I'd be suprised if theres not some houses still awaiting reconnection on Wednesday or so.
I took a few snaps between jobs today well after water levels have dropped. Will see if I can rustle a few up from one of the other teams.

Well I wouldn't say that ALL of the customers I crossed paths with over the last couple of days were entirely amicable. I won't go there though - there's ALWAYS a small element more concerned with their own lives rather then the safety & wellbeing of their neighbours & those that work to keep their precious power distruptions to an absolute minimum.
Do you have a "Bathmat" on your worktruck? If so it IS the same company....
