What do you expect people to say? You hardly gave much to talk about. Perhaps you could have recounted your own experience first then more people would be inclined to talk about it.

Yes I remembered it was Remembrance Day.
I bought my poppy yesterday from the nice old guys at the shopping centre.
At 11.11 I reflected on the lives lost and the sacrifices made.
I sent a message to my brother and a few of my friends in the forces and said I love them and thank them for what they do.

Take a pill and relax.

We see it on TV and at 11 we stop and we are silent for a minute. Now you want us to provide you with a report.

i am currently seving just got back from overseas. Went to RSL this morning and there was hardly any old diggers there. Seems like this day is slowly fading out.................... One of my mates told this lady who was on the pokies at 11 to get off and show some respect and she went nuts (this was at the RSL).

Yeah I used to work at a club, the hide of some people and the lack of respect was disgusting. We would walk around the machines (we had around 200!) telling people to please observe a minutes silence. Most would. Those that didnt were told off and were always served last.

Another mate of mine worked at a pub with a few pokies, people refused to stop playing so the duty manager killed the power to the machines!

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

If you can read this message thank a teacher, If you are reading it in English of your own free will THANK A SOLDIER!

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is
draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

To all the brave men and women who have dedicated or given their lives to protecting this country and it's freedoms:

Enough said!....some people should really show some respect :

I heard it on the radio in the car at 11am and pulled over, sat for probably 10 minutes thinking about my Grandad's stories from when he was at war, then it dawned on me that he died 3 years ago today....
I was very sad for a long time after that.

Call it a minutes silence. Its symbolic.

I remembered three things, those who gave their life, the sacking of the Whitlam Govt, and the hanging of Ned Kelly.
