Why ask?,
Because I'm selling the GT.....we need a deposit for a house, and a $30k to $35,000 deposit will help a lot, I'll be selling the BBS mags with it as spares and the flash tune. It will be sad to see it go, but crunching the numbers its costing me between $600 to $740 a month to run, on average it's 2 tanks a week @ $70 per tank plus $120 a month for insurance. So thats my reason for selling th GT, what's yours?

I'll start the ball rolling.
Went backpacking for a year, 2006. Couldn't stand to leave her hidden away under a car cover on the front yard for a year... That, and tha fact that no one but me drives my cars, so paying for 2 cars to sit around doing nothing was just stupid. |

When we sold the Lancer it was because it was a 1.5 litre auto, not much power, and I was offered a berlina at a real good cost.
We wold probably sell the Fiesta if we were to start a family. Other than that it is a great car for just a couple.

Yellow Festiva - were you a member of the Sprite Club? A friend of mine has a Red MK3, which is holed up in his garage at the moment, next to a Jensen Healey.
As for selling my car, my reasons were simple - I bought a new one.

sold my AU because of all the rattles and squeaks in the thing. Thank goodness the BF is rattle free otherwise there would be another brand in the driveway.

I sold my NC Fairlane because it burst into flames and was only good for parts...
I then sold an immac ED because it was too small for my liking and I missed the V8 wheezer sound... I'd love to sell my NF for a BF2 Ghia, but now im just dreaming... :(

Didn't need the huge car loan debt I gave myself though :togo: I do love my BA though. And after spending a few days without it (it's being resprayed under warranty) and driving a 6cyl BA wagon loaner I really miss the mid range oomph of the 3V. Like they say, you dont know what you have until it's gone.

Thinking about selling my WRX because it costs a lot for something I don't really drive plus the attention from the police is annoying aswell.
The money I'm spending would be better put towards a house but then again I don't want something with no power. Problem is that power and cheap don't belong in the same sentence : I'll just wait until I get a proper job and see if it's worthwile to keep. |

Ford dealer. Ford Customer Service response about dealer which was appalling.
Sold the GT and now drive a Mazda. Ford have been no trouble since. :O Territory will go in next few months. Would still have the GT and probably be looking at upgrading if not for my experience with Ford customer service. I won't be told, no matter how many ways they word it, that a bad dealer isn't their problem. |

Well I sold my EL Ghia 5.0 because I thought I should do the right thing... Save a bit of money, pay off some debts and enjoy not having my own car to run because work had given me a company car...
3 months later, I was in a Commodore even harder to run (still not running well yet) and I'm in no better position. What a mistake!

Its funny this thread has been created. Im actually in the process of selling my subaru liberty wagon for a bigger car. (if anyone is interested in my lib let me know, MY01, 117k, blue, auto, AWD, 17's, exhaust)
The reason I need to seel is due to my mum's health and the fact that I need more power. The subaru has been a gem for reliability and good economy, but it doesnt have the power I want in it. My mum has a brain tumor and she is currently seeing a naturopath in QLD for it. So I will be driving her up every few months to see him. She can't fly due to the high risk of the tumor growing, so driving is the only option for her. Comfort and room is what we need right now as the lib is good for small asian people but not as comfy as a falcon is. Plus the falcon has twice the power of the lib too which is what I miss.

Traded in the BA because i couldn't handle it anymore. All the problems i had with it was getting to me, traded in for the XR5T (Focus) and haven't looked back, a much more refined car in every aspect. Can't say I would look at getting another Falcon ever.

shane3, i feel your pain mate...i live in SW Syd and work at lane cove...53km each way...over 100km each day in traffic..i go through 2 tanks a week, althought i avg about 800km/week. That includes seeing the g/f going out on weekend and driving to/from work... since my office moved to lane cove in august i have done 25000km...bought it with 90,000 in dec 2006, now just clocked over 130,000km...not bad for a 4yr old car...
i wont be selling mine tho, i love it to bits...sure its not as good as my old VS was on fuel but the extra cost makes up for the fact that it feel good to drive somthing that i love driving, it has everything i have always wanted...wish i had a 6T or BOSS tho :( ah well i still have lots of time to buy one...
