Default Why do they do it!

so got up to go to work this mornin at 3am to find that my beloved 04 xr8 has 18 key/wire scratches all down the drivers side. what drives people to do this, they tried to break in and couldnt so they must have decided to key it instead. covered by insurance $3500 was the cheapest quote to fix, its down to the metal, pretty devastated. told work (am in the army) and they gave me the day off to sort it out. now i go away for two weeks tomorrow and have to leave it again. it was in a secure carport, a supra that looks pretty good got done to.

That sucks - they do it through jelousy. I hope the repairs are done well.

Not the lowest, considering there are child rapists and molesters, murderers etc.

But I will say that the people who do this are pathetic. In cases like this, I love the adage, "eye for an eye". I'd love to scratch their cars down to paint and unlike you, they can not get insurance for the damage.
Their personal premium should also increase significantly due to their irresponsibility and disregard for other people's property. These pricks cost the system a lot.

If only it could be done...

I got pretty peeved the other day, someone ran down the passenger side of the car with permanent marker. I ended up rubbing it off with alcohol, but there is a faint white mark where it probably ate the paint away :(

It is called the politics of envy. They are losers who will never make anything of themselves and feel that gives them the right to damage the possessions of people who make a point of working, saving and sacrificing for things like nice cars. Some quality time with electrodes attached to their genitals ought to cure them.

Unfortunately we must share our precious earth and resources with these nimrods. The biggest problem is the cowards usually manage to get away with it, meanwhile us good honest and hardworking people, have to fork out more for our Insurance premiums. Life just sucks sometimes.

Yeah there sure are some scum bags out there. I live in Monbulk which is a suburb in the Dandenong ranges. On Sunday night a bunch of morons decided they were going to try and destroy the town.

Road signs were uprooted, wheelie bins destroyed and set on fire and garbage pretty much strewn all over the place. My car is usually parked on the street so I'm glad I wasn't there at the time. My car has been kicked and covered with that silly string stuff during previous rampages.

I've got a block of land in the same street I'm living in now which I'm clearing to build a house. Had about 50 bags of green waste piled on the nature strip waiting to be taken to the tip. These fools also decided it would be a good idea to rip these open and throw them all over the road! :

It took only one day from the showroom for someone to put a deep scratch in my drivers door. I think it must have been a Ford fan.

That just sucks. People who do this crap deserve to have their keys jammed down their throats. I know it might sound harsh, but these people have no respect for other people's property, and seem to get a kick out of causing misery to others. Last year, mine got keyed. Unfortunately I don't have the money for a full respray. I'm just lucky my car is silver, so the key marks don't really show up in photos.

Why do they do it??

Because they can get away with it, even if they get caught! Put the culprit's hands in a guillotine and let it drop and see how these crimes stop. But then again, same can be said about most other crimes too.

A couple of years ago was heading from Canberra for a road trip down and around victoria in my EH wagon. Parked it out front of my mates place in Wagga, and woke up thanks to their neighbour knocking on the door "Somebody's spraypainted your car mate"..... My heart sank seeing not only had they defaced my paint with a can of black spray paint, tagging all over the roof and bonnet, and painting "LOOSERS" across the tailgate, yes, thats right "loosers"..... also helped themselves to the face from my cd player deck, just the face...., sub and amp, camping gear and 2 lowriders, attempted to steal the whole car, but failed since the alternator was stuffed and had a flat battery, guess they got angry or something. at least i still have the car, things can be replaced. but yes, it really sucks when it happens

got the xr8 back today and am having a few dramas, they ended up respraying my bonnet as well, but didn't blend it into the left hand fender, now i have two different colours and it's noticable. he told me to bring it back and he will fix it (obviously not for free), i felt pressured so ended up signing the paperwork. when i got home i was like this and rang the insurance joint. Told them all about and i have to ring back on monday, they said not to worry they will sort it out. it ****es me off he deliberately didnt blend it in so that i'd come back and give him cash to get it done. who doesn't spend the extra five minutes and blend it in? all of this because some scumbag keyed it!
what do i do from here, i am annoyed at myself for not manning up and telling him how i felt. i think i'll let the insurance deal with it. Still ****es at myself (end rant)

My brother scratched my car with the cone piece from his bong. Not only paint but the windows too. Took a lot of restraint to not kick his head in but lucky I'm not as attached to cars as some people but would obviously would prefer it not scratched :(

Funny how these people who do these sorts of things go ape when it happens to then. Empathy is sorely lacking in today's age
