Default New Ford KA

http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2574980045B177

This is the new Ford KA, based on the Fiat 500. I reckon it would be a good seller in Australia considering how small cars sell in big numbers these days. A 1.4 Turbo version would be ok.

Not bad for a small car. For a second there i thought the rear section was very similar to an echo on the first photo.

Not sure I like it personally...
The back looks odd to me...

That is probably irrelevant however since I am not interested in any car that size

I hope it does well however...take a bit of steam out of the Yaris and Mazda 2...

The shape reminds me of the Mazda 2/Opel Corsa. The backend though, reminds me of an Echo.

Hope it does well.

I remember sitting in one and feeling like literally everything was made of plastic...even the doors I felt could be broken off and replaced with some Lego.

Hope this one is a nicer one.

The last model was a shocker. This isnt too bad for a little runabout, it sort of reminds me of the small Peugeot's

I would like to think that it would sell well here, but the reality of it is that for it to be popular and not cannabilise sales form the soon to be released Fiesta, it would have to retail at around about the 12K - 13K mark. If Ford can manage to get it here for that price bracket and make any form of profit, it will sell really well. Otherwise, it probably won't even see our shores. Seriously though makes the Barina look like the Daewoo it really is.

My thoughts on this are:

Looks hot, will have some nice zip to it(1.4T 99kws from Fiat 500). Should crap over all the other micro car around. I agree 12-14g it would sell well but that would me the Fiesta Mk7 (1.6T) will be more expensive. Also the XR4/ST varient will need to have over 200BHP and under 30g to be a bargin. I can only wish.......

Looks pretty good for a small car. Much better than the old Ka.

However if it's based on the Fiat 500 I wouldn't want to be in a front on smash with it. See the video link below to see what I'm talking about

Ford will struggle to make money in Australia on this car because it will be a $12-15k car, yet plenty of people are happy to pay DOUBLE that for the Fiat 500, which is almost the same car.

Ignorant badge snobs...

PS Looks sweet! A wee ripper!

looks like a puegot. But yeah I think this is the sort of car that will sell with current petrol prices.

Also I agree with phillyc people will see this as just some cheap ford, and happily buy the same car but euro badged for double the price...Gets me thinking if the Vectra and the Opel small car (barina) were sold here with an Opel badge and at not sold at holden dealerships I reckon they would be pretty dam popular.

I'm thinking Mazda 2, but it's night and day between it and the old Ka. That thing was a hideous beast. Hopefully it sells well.

New Fiesta 3 door coming soon and a KA 3 door one would most likely just pinch sales off the other.

It looks like a proper Ka! Needs a Xr4 engine or a turbo RS Ka!
