Sorry but I dont find it funny. Its just pathetic. They really need to be taught as kids how to respect the laws and other citizens.
If something had happened the parents would be blaming everybody but themselves for the accident.

Pfft.. I'v been towed down the beach behind my 4WD on a body board with the car being driven by a girl who had lost her license for drink driving.
Came off at 50km/h, bruised 2 ribs got some kick ares friction burn and had neck pain for a few days but hay. life's pretty boring if ya don't push the envelope once in a wile.

The only stupid part was doing it on a public road. When I was a kid we used to take a bonnet off a wrecked car and surf behind it while it was being towed by a 4wd on sand and shallow water, it was a blast bonnet got hot tho.

Who hasnt done this before. We used tow each other all the time, either in a modified wheelie bin, or on a bodyboard on grass. Never on bitumen though. Then there were the times of tow in push bike jumps, and holding onto the door of the car while on the skatie, just so you didnt have to walk up hills.
Oh the joys of growing up in a 600 person town.

It is a good one, nearly as funny as the time I towed a mate around the truk yard we worked at on an office chair using a Golf Buggy.
Airborne office chairs land badly

My funniest towing incident was World Superbike campground at Phillip Island in 1997. It was wet grass, I was on a DR650 with some rope cut from the fence as a tow rope and a lid off a big sulo bin as a toboggan towing mates around the campground. Was a good laugh.

We usually use bonnets or maccas trays. Heaps of fun and if someone gets hurt then thats part of the game and they know the risks. People just need to settle down. Alot of the people who say "oh you shouldnt be doing that, what a bunch of idiots" pretty much all use to do the same stuff when they were young.
I still get it from my dad. My reply was "Didnt you use to do that?" shuts him up pretty quick.

Hahahaha Macca's trays FTW! What can't they be used for?
A Tray on each foot (or just 1 for both, whatever floats your boat), hold onto the back a ute and away you go. That or Otto bins. Gold times.

I've seen Maccas trays under the rear wheels on FWD cars in attempts to perform 360s.

I think it's hilarious. And really, the only people they can hurt is themselves, especially if that road has as little traffic on it as made out to be.

I personally think this is totally apropriate behaviour and sounds like an interesting mechanical challenge that could be introduced into V8 Supercar racing ie all race cars have to tow two blokes sitting on a couch
All current rules would need to be applied however ie 60 klmh pit lane speed only 6 people allowed to service the car plus smokes and frothies for the couch riders and obviously (for safety reasons ) no thongs Cheers
