Default Take it easy on the roads

http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/200...85_ntnews.html

Here is a perfect example of why we should all take it easy on the roads. You don't want to end up like this bloke, burnouts in the wet are not cool and can leave you feeling rather "drained".

There is also this vid, but

**Warning** May be graphic to some

But it really hits home as to what can happen on the road, to innocent people

Sadly, there are also many people, regardless of what they see that will never get the message.

Unfortunately true, I am one that usually thinks that the ads that are put on are a bit rubbish and have no effect.

That video left my jaw on my desk.

same here.. Is it one single ad or a mix of hardline ad's from around the world? thats what it looks like.. Even the aussie part of it would be good to see on the road.. instead of stepping up the fines..

True, while it's a pretty confronting video with some people as soon as it finished being watched it's forgotten. A case of in one ear and out the other.

Which is why they should be focussing on the driver education from a young age

Very hard hitting ad, found it hard to watch the part with the couple sandwiched together, and i think the guy who rear ends the woman, then finds she rolled into a woman and her child as the saddest part, i did before and i still find the pinky thing as stupid and isnt strong enough to put a message across.

We watched a short movie similar to that clip in yr 12. It was more focused on not wearing seatbelts. I think it was shot directly after an accident scene with an old EH?? Holden.

The usual carnage you would expect could be seen after hitting a pole at speed in an old car that was built like a tank.

However I still remember to this day the sight of a 20c coin embedded into the forehead of one of the occupants.. they think it was just lying on the parcel tray prior to impact.

How much one retains after viewing is another matter.

As a slight aside - given that there are 2 suicide deaths for every 1 road fatality, and that suicide is seen as a preventable death in the medical community, when are we going to see things like the "Progressive Suicide Toll" ? I'M sure it would achieve just as much.
Yes, be safe people, but for the sake of friends and family - make a connection and stay alive. Someone cares, even if it is the tax man or the speed camera revenue department.

That was a hard hitting video - I have seen plenty of those "road safety" videos which all seemed too put on compared with this one. It certainly isn't something to forget in a hurry. I've forwarded the link to a couple of mates who treat the road like their own private racetrack.

already have seen today at least a dozen holiday makers driving like idiots just to get to their spot 5 mins earlier. easy to pick the tourists, usually fly past 20 k above the limit on the straights, then brake to 30 below the limit on the corners. road tolls are neer gonna change unless some people are gonna change their attitudes.
take care all, enjoy the holidays

I almost saw a NSW plated car cleaned up in the Woolies carpark today by one of the delivery trucks and I can tell you he was so close to hitting the car and spinning 180.

Keep safe in the crazy carparks this Xmas too, show some patience.

It's not only taking it easy on the roads, but for those that are working over the holiday period then please take care.

A workplace death is hard enough to deal with at anytime of the year, let alone a fortnight out from Christmas day. My family recently has had to deal with this.

http://www.thecourier.com.au/news/lo...d/1385543.aspx

Tomorrow is many feelings crushing into one. My brother won't get a christmas again. My family has a death to think of every christmas. Tomorrow will be the exactly one fortnight since the accident and one week since the funeral.

When you are with your family tomorrow, please take the time to relax, say what you want to say to one another, because the next day, you may not get the chance too.

Please take it easy in anything you do, have a great christmas and new year. I hope we all get that supercharger we are wanting! Or is that just me?
