Default Lying about weather?

I've heard a rumour that its actually going to be 47 degrees tomorrow in Melbourne. It has been told that its going to be 43, but they are not telling us that its going to be 47 as it will cause panic.

I won't reveal the source. But its reliable.

Does anyone else know anything?

It usually takes the day before being very hot for it to push up past 40. So when it is 30 at 7 in the morning, once the sun comes out it is a good chance it will be very hot - like last week. But it should drop to a forecast 24 overnight. It's not bad out there now and will only cool down at night. So I doubt that will create the right conditions to hit a record temp like 47. Last week with the relentless sun and high overnight temps over a few days, it didn't crack 45 in Melbourne
The BOM forecast is for 44. I don't think it will be far off. I doubt it would reach 45

Why would it cause panic, it's 47 degrees, yes it's hot but it's not going to kill ya, hell we work in 47degree heat all the time, ya just slow down, keep drinking water (I drink bout 1 liter a hour) and keep an eye on the color of you urine.

Apparently the conditions up here are worse than they where when the ash wednesday bush fires started. My English teacher is real paranoid about us and the weather. All it will take is some moron to throw a cigarette butt out of the car window and we have a massive fire.

The heat may be high, but I feel for all the people that lost so much in the floodings in QLD. Just an unbelievable amount of rain fall!

Temp is a funny thing, the difference between 40 and 51 is SFA to how it feels. Once you start talking that kind of heat - hot is hot.

I thought there were some deaths of elderly people recently that was blamed on the heat. I know there are a certain number every year around this time but I'm sure I read somewhere that the numbers were a little higher this year?

I'm not picking a fight though, I agree with you. I thought I was the only sick bastard that checked my pee for colour

Yeah, but add humidity and it changes the whole picture. That's the good thing about Vic, not too humid, we went to cairns for a week and I could barely breath the whole time

More than likely due from over exposure and not enough fluids (Water and some Power aid) But yes it's not hard to get yourself into trobble in thouse sorts of temps

LOL, mate i don't make a Habit of it, but when you are working in 44-52 degree temps day in day out you need to keep a eye on what your body is doing!

You can only predict the weather from certain patterns an such. You can never be exact.

Try to research what the weeks weather is going be from different sources on the net for instance. They are never the same :

BOM says it'll be 44 in Melbourne tomorrow! (that's HOT!!)

In WA, we've seen 38 degrees (very humid) which was just unbearable outside. The aircon in our Telstra building was barely keeping us cool, go for a quick walk around the floor and you'd work up a sweat!

Very strange for Melbourne to be getting such hot temps when they usually have cooler weather compared to the rest of Australia. (eg. it's 28 in Perth tomorrow)

Since the 43 and above temps for 3 days, the next week was humid, so weird.
But atleast I'm home in A/C tomorrow, not in 50 degree shed, with no A/C in full overalls handling farki'n hot spanners.

I'll be expecting rolling blackouts again.

I think we had 33 sudden deaths attributed to the heat in about 3 days here in SA last week.

You Vics think you have it tough. Pffft! One day of 44 degrees, ooohhhh my heart bleeds. Well, time to go to bed over here in SA where we have a forecast minimum of 32 overnight. Temp topped 44 today and we have 42 again tomorrow before a change finally comes in.

I reckon you might want to check your info there as it did crack 45 last week. 45.1 in Melbourne to be exact.

mildura in victoria will be experiencing its 11th day of 40 degrees+ and i hear it will almost reach 50. So get over the fact that you have to put up with one day. The news doesnt say what rural areas are experiencing for some reason.

To be honest I hate the heat, but I couldn't care less if it hit 47c today, I mean really effin hot is effin hot, just look after yourself, stay indoors, don't use up too much electricity, and drink plenty of water and you SHOULD be fine.

What I'm really interested in, is the cool change tonight, ooooh yeah

It is on the Melbourne based news you just have to pay attention and look at the weather map. I have been and it is surprising how much the temperature differentiates just over vic.

This is the first year ever that I am glad to be living in southern Vic during summer. Normally summer's not warm enough down here and winter lasts too long. But after the last few weeks bring on winter I say
