Default My new Daughter

Hi Guys,

My wife gave birth to our 3rd child today, Lillian Jane born @ 7:14PM weighing 7 pound 12 Ounces, was a very easy labour, the pushing stage only went for 9 minutes & she was out, no drugs (not even gas) for the third time!

Cannot wait to pick them up tomorrow, her first car ride with be in a V8 Falcon, driving very very sensibly of course

Thanks everyone, brought them home @ 11am this morning, both doing really well. I think I'm more tired then they are! Our other two kids are settling in nicely with her.. Couldn't be happier

I actually got it wrong, total labour time was 6 hrs 28 minutes, second stage was 9 minutes & the final pushing stage was 5 seconds! She really did come out very quickly!!

Congratulations buddy!! well done to you and mum.

I know I'm not supposed to post ebay links (and no, I have nothing to do with the sale of this item) but I had an idea for the perfect gift. seems fitting given that the first car she was ever in was the Ford boss V8!

Congratulations GUTLES. My 3 kids first ride was in a Ford V8. They loved the ride so much they fell asleep to the perfect V8 note.

Glad it was all hassle free birth. Well done to your wife for not using pain relief drugs.

All the best to you and your family.

Congrats, would be a great feeling bringing both mum and daughter home. My first is due 1st October - will be very interesting to see the difference in my driving on the way to the hospital compared to driving back.

Congrats to you, your wife, and family, on the arrive of little one V3.

May they cost you 1/2 what mine do, which will still be plenty. But they still bring a smile every day.

SB076: I'm glad we didn't leave it until her waters broke to take her to hospital, 15 mins later she was born & we live 35 mins from the hospital

You'll totally change your driving style once you have the baby in the back We all get a bit paranoid that they'll break.

myts: tell me about it mate, my eldest is off to 4yo kinder next year & we're still deciding which school to send her too, the public primary schools around here are alright but the high school is out of control.. There's some good private schools but there pretty exxy.

Spoke to my wife last night "when do I take you to hospital?" the answer I got is when I tell you too. We have a few classes coming up so probably find more out then. Think I will take it very easy on the way home, find a route thats smooth and safe and drive slowly.

But I am looking forward to it, I can feel the baby kick a little bit which is incredible.

As for costs, did a rough budget, the numbers didnt quite add up (I was losing money) so looks like no more spending :( - but it will be worth it

Feeling the baby kicks pretty amazing hey, make sure ya cut the cord too when its born.

Is your wife going back to work? You'll be suprised how easy it is to manage with the family assistance, it helps a bit. When our first was born my wife was only going to be making $60.00 more then not working because of child care..

My new daughters doing great, I had a good nurse of her yesterday afternoon on the couch & we both fell asleep haha. We gave her her first bath before too

Really not looking forward to going back to work in a few weeks!

Yes I will be cutting the cord.

In regards to wife going back to work - we are leaving that open at the moment - hopefully she can do some part time stuff for the company she is with at the moment - but we will just see how it all goes. It would be nice to have a small amount of addtional income.

Thats what I am looking forward to having a good nurse of the baby and baths etc - think that will be fantastic - I am planning on taking two weeks off work to assist wifey and baby settle in and will see how it goes from there. It would be hard to leave all that behind and return to work.

Cutting the cord is probably the best thing you can do as a father

i dont cry to often but the day i cut the cord on all three i cried like a baby ( not to mention the day my youngest had to have an opperation at 9 days old )

it is so conforting that others are like me

the bond that you get with your child is better than anything you will imagine

Dead right there mate. Our little first is now 4 months old. I'm crying whenever a frikkin Huggies add comes on now.

It's the only thing that means anything at the end of the day. to love someone, but more importantly to be loved back and to experience the birth of and bond with your child.

your heart melts everytime you look at them.
