Ford have said the new Focus will spawn up to 10 different derivatives off the basic platform. I was trying to work out what they could be but have struggled to think of what they may be.
So far confirmed have been 1- Focus sedan 2- Focus hatch 3- Focus wagon 4- C-Max 5 seater MPV 5- C-Max Grand 7 seater MPV which leaves 5 possible derivatives to go. I'd assume the next 2 are dead set certainties 6- Focus Coupe-Cabriolet 7- New Kuga Not hard to work that out but the last 3 are hard to work out Possibilities 8- Capri 2 door coupe (rumours have emerged again and it was looked at closely with the last Focus, with the Capri concept car which never went into production) 9- Mini van? Something like a VW Caddy or Holden Combo maybe? 10- ??????????? Can't even think what this may be. What have I missed here. Can't think of any other possible derivatives. Anyone got any other ideas. |

Transit Connect, 3dr hatch and a 2 door coupe i think are strong possibilities. They probably wont make the 3dr for America, and instead do the 2 door there which in turn might form the strong basis for a Capri outside America.

I'd never heard of the Transit Connect, that is one Focus based derivative I was unaware of. That would be a very good chance for number 9. But number 10? |

3Dr and 5Dr hatch, are they considered seperate derivatives, because that will give you 10.
Maybe a LWB chassis? But that's a mondeo. Coluld be some niche' thing that would come out of BMW, like 2Dr Kuga Wagon Convertable with one seat.
