Default hows this for Ford service!

they nicely reversed a Teritory with a towbar into the front of my ute!! Was all accidental, the guy reached in through the window of the teritory and started it up, and it rolled back into me ute! (all while i was right next to it)

Can u get teritory's in manual? cos i assumed it would have been auto, so how could it start and roll back( i thought they had to be in P or N to start?) and being a flat floor it shouldn't roll back even if in N

Damage was fairly minimal, mangled up the number plate, and squashed the front bar in a little.

They got it all painted up during the day and it looks good, and they are also ording new plates. so pretty happy in the end considering. They didn't do much of a service though cos of getting the front bar fixed

It wasn't majorly squashed, enough to make the paint crack and deform it slightly

Fact is i'm not sure how the teri rolled back in the first place

A bit like the old BW 3-speeders:
If the selector rod on a 4-speed auto incorrectly set,
the car doesn't reach parking pawl and will start in reverse.

A dealership employee leaning through a window
and starting a car should be a hanging offense..

Yeah I agree. NEVER start a car without being in the drivers seat !! I worked for Midas for a while and left because they were too dodgy and doing stuff like that, letting molten metal drop onto the Oxy-Acetylene tubes (no flashback arrestor), and wanting me to short-cut the safety checks and there was no way I was signing my name to a car that I didn't KNOW was safe. Anyway getting off-topic lol. Yeah if the isolation switch isn't working or the linkage isn't quite where it should be it'll start in gear.

Well mum found her FG XR6 had been serviced just once in 30,000km before she bought it, from a Ford dealership. They quickly booked it in for a service free of charge once she found out and rang.

Am I on the right site? Ford dealers owning up to their mistakes. Ford dealers giving FREE services? Must be a mix up.

1978. Ford Escort 1.6ltr XL. I have nothing but bad reports of the then Fury Ford service and parts at Ryde, from my personal experience. But I've been reading the bagging out that a number of forum members have been posting since I've been a member here. Currently I own a 2003 BA XR6 bought used near new which I can't fault and neither can I fault the local dealers service I have recieved, Andrew Medieke Group which I have reccomended in other posts. Took me 25 years to buy another Ford even though I compared a few during that time.
Maybe I should have put a couple of these in my post. I understand you have just bought a new FG and recieved excellent service from the dealer which is great but others on here have not gotten the same type of service from the dealers they have used. Hence my comment.

My old 1990 Corolla used to move if you revved it hard enough with it in gear and the clutch in. I'm talking like 8500rpm though.

Man I loved that car.

Every Ford Dealer we work with is big on supporting the ford owners community

Let's face it, most of the dealership staff own a FORD or they wouldn't be working there

We have also found them very supportive when assisting with warranty issues or recalls - guess they see it as an opportunity to make good from a bad situation

Good to see some FORD DEALER GOODNESS being promoted on here!!!!
