Definitely some ammunition for me as I'm just over 12,000km, so I guess I should start asking the questions as next month it'll be 12 months. Thanks man

Pacific Motor Group quotes me $225. I could probably get it a bit cheaper, but that includes finding and fixing rattles in the car, plus they detail the car and make it look like new, the inside is polished, the works. Very happy. Booked in for early July so it should be at 15,000km by then.

So I got my 15,000 service, and the engine does feel a little more sure footed. Economy going back to Toowoomba was about 5.4l/100km which is ok. The thing I'm more worried about is the shocking service I received from my Ford dealer. All for selling the car, but their service department is shocking. Their solution to fix my car rattles was to scrap oil in my rubber door sills, which went all on the carpet, the interior, it's shocking and dirt sticks to it like no tomorrow. They would not replace my drivers side mirror (it's missing the convex element, most Fiestas have the convex mirrors on both sides and I asked but got told that's how it's meant to be). I love Ford, but I can't name a single dealer that has treated me like a human on more than two occasions. Bunch of **************** if you ask me!

Just had the 15000km service on my WS yesterday. Cost $294.95 at Bryan Byrt Ford. Noticed they also replaced a Brake Booster Vacuum Hose as the service guy said their had been a "recall" on those.

Thing that got me most was their response to a problem I noted about a problem engaging Reverse when cold. Check out the new thread I started on that one.

15000 km at Courtney and Patterson in Melbourne's north-east:

Labour $135.00
Parts $54.54 (included new air filter element, at my request, at $38.34)
"Petrol oil lubricants and supplies" $32
Less discount of 10 per cent (they had sent me a letter offering this in July) $18.95
GST $20.26
TOTAL $222.85

PLUS, I supplied my own oil (Castrol Sports Edge) $49.00
So all up the service cost me $271.85.

I too was disgusted with the servicing prices and if you actually read whats involved you have to wonder how much of it they actually do.

I have just bought some castrol synthetic that everyone likes here and I have also purchased some Penrite sin gear oil. I have found a mechanic only wants 1 testicle instead of both and my virgin bum.

oils = $115
labour = $100 (inc rotation of wheels while on the hoist)
wheel alignment = $35
Total = $161

So I get a wheel rotation, alignment, and gear oil changed over and above what Ford was going to do and I save $119

Who do they think they are? Clowns.
