Is it just me or do you get really offensive when someone bags anything FORD?
I mean like someones bagging your parents ect! LOL! My Fords are like a family member and they kinda become a part of me.

I'm sure there will be those that will think i have issues...

Depends on if the bagging is unjustified or justified.

I bagged 2 Ford dealers I had bad dealings with (and rightly so), and praised a Holden I hired for the week as It performed well above expectations.

But yes, I get defensive (and bite back no holds barred) when people bag anything based on ignorance and mis information on the topic.

Be it Ford or anything else.

Ummm.... let it go, Tiger. Love your passion,(and I love a lot of things about working on my Fairlane, and what I will get out of driving it around when it is finished), but it is not one of my parents, or one of my kids, or one of the million other things that are really important, (in the scheme of things). Sorry.

My relos bag me about my Fords but they whinge even more amongst themselves about the crap resale value of their holdens...

one nephew got a contract up north and was given a ranger diesel ...loves it to death...
had to give it back eventually. Got himself (private car) a Nitro and had nothing but ongoing issues to the point where he threatened the dealer that he'll drive it through the showroom window out of frustration if things weren't fixed...

If it is a well constructed criticism, based on personal experience or evidence, i dont mind a whole lot. I enjoy a good discussion.

My natural reaction is to become defensive at first, but then i think this is more about my personality than the topic lol

My next door neighbour has a BA F6 Typhoon, and we're always ripping into eachother.

It's only for fun. Though he did get a bit ****y at the conclusion of last year's Bathurst.

Just remember fighting ignorance with ignorance doesn't make you any better.

That's why when I first posted up my VL on here I just took all the negativity like a grain of salt.

I don't get "offensive", I might become offended by someone who is becoming offensive though. Depends on the person really. I suppose if the person is knowledgeable then they can't really become offensive can they? However, a person without knowledge, attempting to criticise constructively, well, they're just offensive?

lol lol lol lol

Do you really just like your Fords... or are you a crazed one-eyed fanboy? It's an important distinction to make, because fanboys are a waste of time and the world would be a better place without them. But if you really do like your Fords and aren't one-eyed about it, then I'm sure it's not just you and there are plenty of people like you. Personally I like Fords but I don't really give a hoot about what people say; I'd also buy a Holden if they had something I really liked - if the current model had a better interior I probably would have bought an SS. But yeah, I've found that most one-eyed fanboys are either very young or can't afford to buy new Fords/Holdens etc because if they had driven/owned both they would know they are two very evenly matched products. I really hate it when you get talking with someone about Fords, Holdens etc and they'll tell you how Jesus drives a Ford, the FGs are the best blah blah blah then you find out old mate hasn't even driven the new ones and drives an EA - that exact situation happened to me recently and you just wonder how these people can promote the brand so much without knowing what they are on about.

Well, there is more to a car than how well it goes around a track and how fast it is down the qtr. I prefer comfort, reliability and features before performance, especially when a NA I6 is fast enough to get you into trouble where it is driven most, public roads. Those that support other brands, wear their caps backwards etc. are more than welcome to waste their time telling me how much faster their car is over mine. They can take a tissue.

my wifes' sisters' halfwit boyfriend gives me this lame argument every time there is a family gathering heres a sample

him : fords suck
me : why is that?
him : they just do
me : hm so fords suck without reason
him : yes they just suck
me : but you havn't told me why they suck
him : because they are all being used as taxis
me : how is that a bad thing, clearly they are being used as taxis as they are cheap to maintain, reliable and capable of doing very high kms without a timing chain failure
him : fords suck
me : <walks away>

drives me nuts at his narrow minded attitude

If you let him drive you nuts ...then he's already won!

get up his nose ... just say:

a) yeah ...whatever bro!
b) just smile and talk about the weather ...
c) tell him if you want his opinion, you'll punch it out of him...

I like Fords coz theyve been in continuous production since 1909. Probably the last time someone had an intelligent thing to say about them but ah well.
