Default Sold my fg xr6t ute

After 40 months with my green tractor(the ute) i decided on the spur of the moment to buy a renault clio 200 cup trophee brand new.The dealer saw my car 12 months ago ,and i have yet to see the new clio in the flesh, have seen pics of it on the net, anyways ,they wanted 39 995 drive away for the clio,i sent them an email saying you take my ute and 10 000 cash and give me the clio,at 12 am last nite.Long story short they took the deal at 10 am this morning with no one laying eyes on any cars.I am over the moon as i bought the ute in october 2008 for 38 500 drive away and sold it for a loss of 9500 .

Lol dont knock a Renault ,the clio is pound for pound the best hot hatch on the market today,if u put it on a race track it will hold its own against an xr5,golf,etc.sure it will get eaten on the straight, but come courner time the clio will be in your face.its only a 2 liter N/a 200 horse power.I want the car for track days every now and then, there is no way i would put the ute on a track, unless i wanna die.

They are awesome cars!!!

You wont believe the amount of fun you will have, smiles from ear to ear! The sound awesome too when revving out to 8000! (which you can do all day!)

And having experience a few months back on the Nurburgring in one, on the corners nothing can catch you!

Had some awesome runs with an RS focus, he had nothing on it, apart from straights, and even then nothing to write home about. I was trying to let him past, while going hard as possible, giving him room, he just could never do it!
haha.
I did a 9.20!
Apparently you can get them down to a mid 8 min if you are nuts! Better than any golf gti or scirocco! And so much more fun!

VW's are dead boring with their turbo engines.

The talk is there wont be many more NA high HP/litre engines in the future (due to emissions etc, even BMW are/have dropping their v10 NA etc) so its great you are getting it while it exists!

Ill put a vid of a bit of germany hooning I did on youtube later today hopefully.

hey, also against a golf or xr5 they DONT get eaten on the straight!

Reason is, you are using all your 201 HP as you always keep it in the range of 5000 - 7500 (the power) with your frantic and fun cog swapping of the sweet 6 speed manual and the car is lighter.

They are something like 6.5 to 100.

Yer they are quick those little Renault buzz boxes. I was sitting behind a Megane the other week and **** did he leave me for dead. I'm spinning out that they are only NA as well, unbelievable.

Megane RS's have been turbo'd for current and last model. Current megane RS is king of the hot hatches and hopefully something I'll be driving in the next year when depreciation hits on a 2011 model.

Have driven previous model Clio 182 and it was razor sharp in turns.

And GULL congrats on the purchase. Whilst my 147ti isn't a hot hatch, I must say that I enjoy my 147ti manual with sports suspension better as a daily driver than my XR.

That's a great deal!! What depreciation

Those Renaults are supposed to be good but I would've gone for a WRX mainly due to the larger dealer network.

But post pics please.

Wow its awsome to see some many of you guys knowing and having appreciation of cars other than ford and holden, this will be my 4th renault, the 1 i had before the ute was a 225 f1 megane only 30 came into the country, and she was a ripper, dont get me wrong,i love my ute to death and it turns heads and goes like a cake at a fat ladies party, but its was just time to have a car that i can drive at 1 with,i was not looking for the power as thats not what the clio is about.
Cheech i was looking at a 2nd hand 147 but as i already have a alfa 75 i know that looking at an alfa sucks money out of your pocket, lol.
No mods planned for some time but once its run in im going to go to queensland race way for a track day or 2,always wanted to do that.
If anyone wants to buy the number plate i had on the ute DJ 17(QLD) pm me.
Once again thanks for all the positive support
