Unfortunately some idiot has keyed the beamer, pretty bad too. Down to bare metal all along the passenger side of the car
Just wondering what other people have had to do to fix this, especially on white/pearl cars? & What kind of idiot goes out of their way to walk up someones driveway & key their car? |

Presumably someone that has a personal beef against you.
Sadly sounds like it would probably need a respray. |

i had a car keyed once, fortunately for me they got every panel = full respray.
might be good to inform the police. not that they will catch anyone (got my car checked for prints) but they will then give the police event number to give to your insurance company

I feel your pain, drivers side rear passenger door has a nice keyed scrape on it on my F6 - shows up really well, white undercoat on red panel. At least the douchebag had the courtesy to only screw up one of my panels.

Unluckily for me, they only keyed the panels that were in pristine condition, and didn't even touch the bonnet or front which I would've happily got resprayed :( Could've used a new coat on the bonnet |

Because people have no respect for others property.
It doesn't matter if its a rusty old EA Falcon or a new F6, you don't go about damaging other peoples property. |

How dare you own a BMW..... here I am struggling to pay for my beer n smokes on the dole and you have the nerve to own a car like that when my Hot to Trot VS commy with second hand HSV spoiler kit needs a respray and a matching set of HSV mags that I'll steal off a car parked up the street........ You Bastard... I'll learn you to go out and make your own money and buy a nice car...... where's me f**kin keys..... now I'm really P*SSED orff
There that fixed ya (Spelling corrected from true deadbeat bogan and F**kin removed from between every send work so that the educated of us could understand it) Now the above was similar to something sprayed at me for having the nerve to own a 12 month old BA XT back in 2004 by some dimwit who drove his busted VN like a lunatic to beat me to the Maccas drive thru, Yes the VN had a very very second hand HSV kit of many colours(probably stolen from various cars) Yep even threatened to key it because I was rich....... BWHAHAHAHAHAAHA

Feel your frustration. I had someone try to pry a badge of one of the work vehicles. A FORD Badge! WTF for? you can buy them online, or walk into any wreckers and pay a dollar. Oh how I'd love to catch someone doing this kind of thing. Even someone elses car...........

Damn dude I know exactly how you feel.
A couple years ago when I was working as a bar-tender at a local popular venue, I had just bought a brand new FG XR8 ute on the Friday. That night I took it to work and parked it in our car park out the back. The next morning I wake up, so excited to go out and wash my new car and polish it up, to notice a HUUGE, big, fat key mark zigzagged across my bonnet. I actually nearly cried, I was in disbelief. Just bought my first powerful car for 50k, and someone damaged it first night. So over the next week or two while I was at work I was just putting the word around asking the patrons if anyone knew anything about it. About 2 weeks later a young dude that I'd see most weekends came up to me and said he knows who keyed it. Apparently he goes to TAFE in Perth and was sitting around and overheard a group of young guys talking about keying this car, bragging about ******* up some brand new XR8 ute's paint job. So the young guy asked them if it was a blue one, and they said yeah, to which he replied that he knows the owner and is gonna let him know. He told me where the guy works, so I rang his work and he wasn't there, but I let his boss know and said I'm gonna come down and beat the **** out of him and burn his car when he's in. The boss passed the message on and I got a phonecall from him the next day. He was crying histerically and couldn't say sorry enough I asked why would anyone do that and he said "cause I thought it would be cool cause it's a Ford". I actually wanted to kill him. Who even thinks like that? Why? I'll never understand. Anyway, I knew my panel beater quite well, he gave me a crazy low cash price to fix it, but printed up a quote more than double the price. The young dude got his steroid junkie friend to come and give it to me at work (I've still never seen this young bloke), and I bought the panel beater 2 cartons and had some extra cash to put towards my exhaust. Win-win!

I'm always frightened that my car will get keyed and insurance will just give me a cheque instead of helping me repair. I have no where to park it so it's on the side of the road (allbeit is one wheel on the nature strip) but there are commodores and sketchy lookin' characters all along my strip that always eye me off as I drive my car in. I make a habit of hitting the lock button twice so the horn beeps in the hope that they think she has an alarm........

I had a bad luck story to share.
Someone keyed the passenger side of my Fairlane across three panels. I took it to a place to get fixed and they kept taking too long to get onto my car. So after a week I collected it and told them not to worry about it. I went out for the day and later parked in a Woolworths car park in a whole different area. Came back to my car to find my driver's side keyed as well. :( Eventually took it to a taxi garage who did a great job on it all.

I thought jumping on car bonnets and roofs was the new "cool" and keying was passe.
Sorry to hear about your BMW mate. It was mostly likely done simply because they could. I doubt it was personal.

I wrote in here recently about my XR8 ute being keyed on 3 panels.
I feel your pain. And being right out the front of home (and we live in a court) it felt very personal. Its all fixed now. I'm $500 poorer due to excess but I can look at my car again without the rage |
