cant go past xa/b dash cockpit style. roebuck vinyl and basketweave looking thru windscreen of xw and xy falcons is great also. can vouch for the red velour in wb statesman caprice also. hk dash is great also of the other breed as is hr premier of the ones i have taken notice of!

It's gotta be AU TL50..! with EL GT a close second..!

But AU LTD, XF Ghia, FE LTD, XE ESP and HSV Coulson seats are nice too!

XF ghia/FE LTD, AU2 LTD, EL GT, P6 LTD.

I think that Ford have had consistently better interiors than Holden.

I also think the last opulent interiors were high end AUs. Today, cars seem to be more
'streamlined' in their interiors. Not much of a difference between low and high end in feel. In the 80s, there was no way you could confuse the interior of an XF GL with a Ghia.

Yeah the EL Ghia/high series was nice.

Im biased but I love the high series AU's aswell. Low series is pretty poor though, the center section gets highlighted in a bad way.

Thread needs pics BTW.

I loved the interior & dash on my old Torana LJ XU1 - it was a fantastic combo in its day. I also enjoyed the dash & electronics in my TX5 Ghia (full electronic dash & motorised air vents).

TE Cortina Rally Pack (biased though...we owned one)
I'd agree with VK Calais...great dash! Plush seats, comfortable and quiet an handled very well. Again, we owned one.
1971 GT Cortina (which we also owned...see a pattern here?)
"Yellow Needle" GTS dash. (Guess what dash our WB ute has in it...?)
AP5 Valiant Regal with the push button auto! They also had carpet up the bottom of the doors and luxurious seats.
770 VH Charger. That auto shifter on the floor with the button in the top of the knob, that fake turned metal finish on the dash panel!
XY GT. Enought said.
mid-50's Austin A30...yes, really. Surprisingly comfortable seats despite thier small size, lots of head room, Lovely shaped chrome bezel on the instrument panel, beautifully lettered instruments, jewel-like light lenses for warning lights...just a shame that behind it was a handful of typically-British Lucas electrics...

EA Fairmont Ghia. I love that digital dash, it's a shame they dropped it for the later E-Series models.
EL Fairmont Ghia. Classic mix of gorgeous beige leather with woodgrain trim.
DL LTD. As above.
BA/BF Fairmont / Fairmont Ghia. Love the elegant sophistication of the high end B-series dash. It's not just attractive, it's also very user friendly.
