Default 2012 FPV GTE good value?

Hello all,
There is a 2012 GTE with 6,900kilometers for 67k at a local Ford dealer. Does this represent good value?

I'd still like to hold out and get an ex demo 2015-2016 Model as I assume it will be better. Has the market fallen this much on these things?

Given the F6 E and GT-E have already been dropped from the FPV lineup, you're going to be out of luck if you wait for a 201X model.

SRT8 is better value , the kit and specification is higher than the GTE...and there is MOPAR/SRT8 aftermarket goodies for it.
If you can get a good deal on the last of the GTE's, go for it. If you don't want bling bling...

Don't really mind if its a GTE, F6, GT or GTP. Just made a promise to myself that there will be a last model FPV in our garage to replace the Mrs BF2 GHIA, so we can pass down some motoring history to my boy.

Great Wall is even better value.......I saw it on TV. It is also slower and uglier than the GT-E.

That price for that car is a bargain and if you can afford it grab it, if not, PM me where it is.......

Yep .... cant see the question on an SRT8 comparison? Might have missed it.

..... and agree, very good buying!~ If you want a GT335, it is well priced for sure.

Also, as an owner of a 5.0 S/C GT ..... they are bloody brilliant and don't let those who haven't experienced one say otherwise!

GT-E is the top of the crop with all the top shelf goodies, I don't think there is an option to be had as it is fully loaded as it comes out. RRP is I think from memory 83k + on roads.

I understand looks are subjective, I've never been a fan of the Chrysler. I'm not in the market right now for a new car. Mortgage payments are to high, until my boy is old enough for school the good wife is only working 2 days a week. Meaning no spare cash for 3-4 years. Just saw the car when I was waiting to get new tyres put on and was taken back at the low price. PM sent with the dealers name.

The reason for the price is no one wants a GTE. A couple on the forum have them and one could not sell it.

The resale on GTE is horrendous if you don't plan on parking it up I'd wait. Apparently there's still a few in Fords management fleet. I've seen dealers get them for 52k at auction. I nearly bought a demo with 5,000 Km's for $59,990 back early last year.

There's a white demo on carsales for 63k. Looks to be Etheridge Ford. Go see Salem and offer him $59,990. They will probably take it.

I've got a 335 GTE. I love it. Best car I've ever owned.

They aren't as popular because they don't have the, look at me, stripes and panda eyes. But I prefer that. As for resale, the dealer has just copped that hit.

I'm a fan and its on my shopping list.

Mrs XWGT prefers stripes and R Spec loud packages but I have a soft spot for the GT-E as well

Good value IMO

BF series the Force cars were always my favourites, FG definitely the GT-E, and this time around I made sure I got one. Love everything about it more than the others in the line up. If I didn't find this one when I was new car shopping I don't think I would have bought a Ford this time around. Also looked at a couple of GT-Ps at similar money, and both in nice colours, but in the end the GT-E won out.

I agree, historically GT-E resale has been poor so in answer to the Op's question, I concur with you and that example on today's market is not especially good value at the asking price.

In my opinion retail has very little to do with it, as you know, not all that many people buy them new and pay retail, especially on GT-E cars which are typically sold as demo's or ex Ford management fleet. Wern't you talking about being ambivilent about accepting $50K for your's ? In answer to the Op's question, That would be good value !

I only mentioned price as that is a yardstick for the OP to compare the asking price in this particular case to. Personally I think he could do a little better than 67k for that car but it also depends if that is driveway or now, 67k driveaway is pretty good, but if it is 67k + stamps etc. then you are looking at 72k before you are out of the yard in all probability.
As for resale I can't say I have seen enough of them out there to make some of the definitive statements some seem prepared to make, resale is crap on all cars to be honest, there might be very tiny variations in crapness, but in the end it is all crap :-) And if anyone uses Carsales asking prices as a guide I don't see the reliability in that, as most of the adverts are on there are firmly in tell him he's dreaming territory anyway... But then there are those like me that would always pay a premium to get a Force or E car over any other variant of the range. Just there are more mid-life crisis panda, stripe and big wing loving bogans out there than those of us with good taste driving GT-Es :-)

Pretty sure you should be directing that to the HSV E3 owners on a different forum

Thing is you can buy a new gt with leather for the same money... Personally I'm a big fan of the GT-E and after having the GT for four years I was over the look at me factor. If you get it for the right money and plan on keeping it then go for it. Just don't think it's going to be worth big money anytime this side of 30 years. As far as collectibility goes last years R spec models would have to be winners. Could be the quickest FPV's ever made.

Personally, much prefer the understated look, the only thing putting me off the GTE is the fake wood strip on the dash and doors. Prefer a fake carbon fibre/aluminin look myself, and I would loved to be able to option the recaro/GTP seats with it.

I can't complain, I can't afford them new, so I'm stuck with trying to find the most suitable demo to meet my personal tastes.

Plenty of bits and pieces available. My second F6 had a GT-P interior. I bought it off fleabay for $2400, used it for 3 years and then put the original back in it when I sold it then sold the GT-P interior for $2400

It also made my F6 look extremely well looked after as the interior was immaculate, like I had never driven it

There are LOTS of dead GT-Ps and GTs at wreckers, just plug and play then change it back when you are finished with it.

I am waiting for a FG SP to appear so I can do the same with my ute but unfortunately they are rare and tend to draw big dollars.
