Default Sync update for WZ Fiesta Trend

The Ford Australia website has an update to the Sync software for the WZ Trend. Downloaded the update to a USB drive as instructed, making sure it was >2GB and FAT formatted.

Followed the installation instructions but it doesn't want to recognise the install file. Have tried multiple file formats, 3 different drives, etc and nothing works.

Phone Ford customer service and they have no idea. My dealer wants $70 to do what should be an easy 15min job at home. Anyone else been through this and found a fix?

Default Re: Sync update for WZ Fiesta Trend

Just an update on this. I phoned Ford Australia again and they confirmed that all sync updates provided through the Ford Australia website are managed by some part of Ford global. So the locals have no real way to troubleshoot any technical issues with downloaded updates.

Also I notice that the update is now no longer available and assume they will be just directing everyone to dealers. I'm going to push for my dealer to do it for free as I've got e-mails showing they intended to provide updates for free. A bit like if Apple suddenly decided that instead of doing OTA updates they made you go into an Apple store and pay for IOS upgrades.
