Default 2010 TDCi Drive Shaft Bearings.

I have a 2010 TDCi focus which developed a noise under load. Investigation has shown that a drive shaft bearing is stuffed. It has done 119,000 Kms. I have been quoted $980.00 to have it repaired by Knox Ford in Melbourne. Is this a common fault and the repair cost seems rather excessive.

You'd be wanting a whole new driveshaft for that price.

The retail price for a Focus CV shaft is $1000, and trade price about $800, so seems about right.

I am a bit confused is it the bearings in the diff or the hub or is it the CV joints?
120 ,000 is a bit lower than I would have expected for any of these unless the CV boot was compromised earlier

Needed the car in a hurry so had it done. They say it was the centre bearing and replaced the drive shaft assembly. Cost of item $729.00 plus GST. I have no idea of what is involved. Does this make sense with the Kms done?
