Post Dash Cam Owners Australia

An increasing number of people have dash cams in their cars and I am considering getting one for my car.

Here is a channel where AFF members who have dash cams can share their videos of what incidents they have seen

It's an entertaining page.

I have had my dashcam for a couple of years now and I like having it. I have never had to use the footage for anything, but it's nice to have just in case.

I used to have a cheap camera but the quality was terrible and the sun killed it.
One I have now was only $130 on sale, but is awesome.

Already on my subscription list.
As I always say it's better to learn from other people's mistakes than your own.

This is the one I currently have.
It's an entry level dashcam with a capacitor (NOT battery) for power storage.
Only catch is it costs a little more than a battery version but worth it because of the so-called Aussie sun and all..
It gets hot around here so I deemed a dashcam with a capacitor absolutely essential because it is a lot less susceptible to failure by excessive heat.

Also needed to buy which didn't come with the dashcam:
5m or longer USB extension cable - Jaycar
Some duct tape to tape USB cable around A-pillar and roof lining - Bunnings
Class 10 64GB microSDHC card - Officeworks
(It must be Class 10 or it can't keep up with recording, 64GB is sufficient for 3 days recording of peak hour traffic driving)
